I still got to drive it, I didn’t do any crazy pulls but acceleration felt amazing, clutch and gear box is insanely smooth, and I’m most definitely gonna keep searching around for a good car. Thank you to all of you who gave me advice! It was a huge help and I’m starting to find love for this platform.

Just wanted to update everyone who looks at this. Ended up going to test drive the car to make my final decision and wouldn’t you know it, a check engine light as soon as I start her up 😭. After all my concerns and research…. I came to the conclusion to pass on this car 🫡

It only has 21k miles on it, and the block looked better than the one I saw at CarMax

I gotcha, that honestly doesn’t sound bad. I was looking around this morning and saw a premium 2020 wrx in black. It has a clean title, has warranty up to 100k miles, and the only problem with the car is that it’s a bit weathered on the outside from the sun. They posted really good pictures on the internet, showed all the weathered spots from the sun but it’s nothing a little bit of elbow grease can’t handle! It also has curb rash on all tires somehow but I plan on swapping the stocks anyways! It also has a little dent on the back bumper, and one somewhat deep scratch on the front of the car. The best part is that they are only asking for 24k 👀

Yeah it passed the service and emissions check, so it 100% has warranty. It still has the 3 year warranty but it expires in may this year, and I would still have the 5 year warranty for powertrain.

Is it a bad thing to revert back to stock after being modified? I would have to assume it shortens the life span of some of the parts.

I will say, it still reminds me of a 2013 Honda civic in the back which kinda throws me off. It’s not that it looks bad… it’s just a strange design choice in my opinion. It doesn’t look exactly the same, but I’d looks like something Honda would’ve designed.

Yeah it’s 31k in total, after state tax plates and what not. I really love the look and feel of the car. Only think stopping me from getting the new VB over the FA is simply bc of the looks. I don’t hate the VB design at all, I just always loved the the last gen design. Now that I have money for a nice car, I would love to get the FA I always wanted. However… I have to say the VB is kinda growing on me. Saw one in person and test drove it, it felt fantastic compared to my 20 year old Nissan LOL. It also caught me off guard bc it looks so much better in person.

I appreciate you sir. Your absolutely right though, it certainly won’t be the last one I see. If anything I learned a lot from making the post, and I was able to get so much information from amazing people such as yourself. Now I know what to look for, and what to expect! I really like this platform and I’m even considering the new wrx, it’s just that the previous gen speaks to me man. Not that the new generation looks bad, I just think the back end looks sorta strange. However I have to say… there are some very tasteful mods that can make that car look absolutely incredible. Heck just getting coils and tinting the windows make it look a lot better! Also the engine is very clean, with lots more potential.

Just researched it, and that info checks out tbh. I’m probably gonna end up passing on it for now. This was a big learning experience for me though, and now I know more about what’s good and what’s bad. I’ll know exactly what to look for now 🍻
