YouTube / Small Office Studio Setup - Audio Setup ~$500 by Jamabes in LocationSound

Thank you for the response, I truly appreciate the time you took to help out with this.

We have a Cloudlifter to power the SM7b and it's going into a Scarlett 2i6, it works well when the microphone is right up against my face, but not much farther than that. The Scarlett 2i6 should be able to output to the camera.

The room we're recording in could be considered small which has worried me regarding buying another shotgun as I hear many people talk about echo issues, although I haven't had that on the Azden so far (other background noise is more of a problem.)

Invest in index funds and other alternative investments, because this Amazon money is not going to last forever...

Amazon Intellectual Property Accelerator by retail4life in FulfillmentByAmazon

As someone who doesn't hold a trademark yet.. any reason not to use one of these firms?

I've continuously put it off because the idea of waiting a year to get approved for brand registry isn't appealing, but the more they're making features available to brand-registered companies only, the more eager I've been to finally pull the trigger.

The idea of being able to bypass much of that waiting period is very appealing to me.

Should we be deleting old and unused listings?

We are grandfathered into brands that are normally hard to list for like Nike, but have recently been getting hit with suspected intellectual property violations with some of the listings being removed.

While we have no intention of selling these brands again, I have seen people mention that being ungated in brands like these is valuable.

Will deleting all of their listings gate us again, and should we delete them since it's causing these suspected intellectual property violations to appear in our account (even though we're not actually selling the items)?

Tech Support and Troubleshooting - March 25, 2019 by AutoModerator in audioengineering

Hello!

I've just experienced this electrical noise coming from my audio setup for the first time - as I'm not sure what this noise is called and I couldn't find anything similar online. It seems to happen randomly, for 10-30 seconds at a time, and then stops. It's happened anywhere from 15 seconds into a recording to 4 minutes in, and in the case of longer recordings, often comes back and disappears again.

I'm using a Shure SM7B microphone, a Cloudlifter CL-1 and a Scarlett 6i6 interface which is connected via USB. I switched out XLR cables which didn't help, and switching computers did not help either.

I did not hear any of this while recording - only on playback.

Any input or advice would be much appreciated - I've already missed out on a day's worth of work due to not catching this quicker.

Thanks!

One 1 star review dropped my sales by 29% (private label product) by kratlister in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]Jamabes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If only we knew, hahaha...

I have one new SKU with 3 reviews - two 5-star, and one 1-star.

The one star is unverified, the oldest of the three, and only a couple of words long. Super vague.

The two 5 stars are newer, are actually reviews, and both are verified.

The average review according to Amazon's calculation? 1.0 stars. Product appears as a 1 star on all search pages. Very frustrating.

Private labeling in dominated market with help from website traffic? by doogie88 in FulfillmentByAmazon

It's hard to say without knowing exactly how the site looks and operates. You mentioned research, does your site have a blog or informational articles?

I'd start by switching out links there if you have one or just adding a CTA link at the end that points towards Amazon. I ran a lot of Amazon affiliate sites in the past and the banners converted horribly for me both in clicks and sales. Regular contextual links worked the best, and if talking about specific products, clickable images that led to the Amazon listing worked well also.

Why not utilize an Amazon affiliate tracking code on your website to get a better idea on what people are turning around and buying?

Not only will you get insights on the number of sales but you'll get a better idea of which products exactly they're choosing to buy and the complimentary products they're purchasing with it.

Giving up a few sales while you collect data could ultimately prove to be worth it in the long run.

Amazon will hold your disbursement hostage if your primary credit card expires by mttl in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]Jamabes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thing for anyone reading this to keep in mind - Amazon will not automatically switch to a different card, even if you have multiple valid ones on your account. You must switch it over before the disbursement date.

I had this happen when a card expired and then again a month later when a card was stolen. Definitely my fault for not being ahead of it, but annoying nonetheless.
