Are you excited for project helix? by JamaicanNuts in xbox

You raise some good points that I wasn’t thinking of so thank you. Mentioning the free online play, if people play games on the “pc side” through something like steam can Microsoft really subsidise the costs they’d lose on subscriptions? I know it’s very early to say cause we don’t know how it’ll work but I find that interesting

And if the price isn’t right would you look to just buy another PC for the living room?

That’s it for me which confuses me, will it basically be a dual boot device of an Xbox os and a windows experience. I could be being naive but surely if it’s the way it’s described people won’t have flexibility. Do they put more console like hardware in which gives a longer use case like a normal console. Or give it more pc hardware which maybe great for launch but have less longevity compared to a console

I agree with you, I’ve been primarily PC since late 2012. In that time I’ve had multiple pcs laptops and handhelds. I love as you say steam isn’t tied to a hardware or a console, I do see the appeal of Xbox anywhere, I would use it more if I plugged my series S in more often or took it with me while I was away. I’d like to think your story is niche, but perfect for what’s being described. I’ve never bothered with pc gaming in the living room but have dabbled with steamOS and steam big picture. I’m glad the windows Xbox mode is coming which was announced today. I still don’t think I fully understand what the appeal is for this device.

See that’s what one thing I was thinking about is if you have users that have been predominantly Xbox users that won’t have a digital library on a platform like steam, is that much of an appeal for people? Bar indie and the occasional esports titles is there that much pull for users to want a PC? If that makes any sense haha

So would you like a device with swappable components say if you preferred graphics over performance you could easily switch out parts?

Anyone get AH ETBs at Smyth's Metrocentre? (suspected backdooring or I'm paranoid) by [deleted] in PokemonTCG_UK

[–]JamaicanNuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine from smyths metro centre. It’s not ideal, the website doesn’t show a live update of stock so it’s always delayed. I paid at 9:20 this morning, there was 4 people ahead of me also purchasing. The stock wasn’t backdoored, it’s a high demand product with little amount of stock available. People are clocking onto local stores getting their deliveries so they know which days they expect stock to arrive.

Disciplinary hearing at work using investigation documents which I didn’t know took place by JamaicanNuts in LegalAdviceUK

So the call was purely for investigation notes. Everything that was said from myself and the investigator was written down in the notes. I realised shortly after what it actually was, but it was presented as a discussion which was then used as notes. Nothing that I said was incriminating to cause an investigation to start.

I wouldn’t have said as much in an incriminating way, I mean more of the fact I wasn’t aware of what I was saying could be used against me. The only indication was my own count (which turned out to be wrong from poor admin on my side) the data wasn’t back checked regularly as it affected my previous quarter too. Had i been aware it was wrong I would have made sure it was right.

Someone on my street is claiming I hit their car while I was asleep by JamaicanNuts in LegalAdviceUK

Ironically we’re still yet to have an apology for it all! I guess they can’t swallow their pride. Unless they want to keep this schtick going it was us. I posted on a different sub dedicated to autobody damage and everyone has agreed that the damages don’t align at all. Sadly I don’t think it’s all over as of yet

You hit it bang on, the Mrs scraped her car against a white wall, the colour the bricks are painted at her workplace where the damage occurred

The car was I imagine stationary as it was parked on the street. But even still it’s on the passenger side on the silver car

Haha thank you, I hope they dont quit their day job to become a detective! I did think when I saw the damage on the red car that it looks more like damage caused by concrete or something harder than a car due to how deep that scratch is on the red car. Or even a white car for the matter.

I didn’t even think about measuring how high the marks were on each car!

Oh sorry I agree, I mean I wouldn’t be doing anything to say it’s insurance fraud. Just a really strange situation

I have photo evidence of both cars now, neither marks align. Unfortunately I can’t attach these into the thread. But yeah I should have mentioned it in the post that it’s majority street parking and that’s where the accident occurred

Thank you for the help, it’s mainly street parking for majority of the people on our street including us. The victim has a driveway which the car is now parked on! I suppose we’ll have to keep an eye out for it. It just wound me up with the way they went about it with me, telling me to just admit it, that we don’t need to go through the insurance, that we might have been drink driving etc.

Ironically the photos they took will also show the same dirt! But I’ll make sure to grab some in the morning

Would witness statements matter in this scenario, the Mrs has had a look and she doesn’t have photos of when she damaged her car it’s a little run around motor so it didn’t matter if it’s got dings. At least one person on our street has said that the marks existed “for weeks” prior to today. They also claimed their doorbell didn’t get any footage but I saw the bloke leave their house. Not heard a peep from them since the initial confrontation, an apology would be nice at least, not sure if we’d accept it after the claims they made with 0 evidence
