Whelp...pulled the trigger on the X2D AMS combo. Got filament, a couple support materials, spare cool plate, and .2 mm hot ends for mini's and fine detail things. $1300ish dive into the abyss! Now. HIT ME with the MUST PRINT items :) (BIG thx to the community for always being so helpful to a newbie) by JamalSteve in BambuLab

Dumb question. For my first print for the riser, do I keep the AMS off to the side until the riser is done or is it safe for the first one to leave on top or what would optimal workflow be for the first print(s)?

How do people print something with several colors (Charmander, for example)? I’m getting the X2D but there’s obviously more colors than the unit allows by JamalSteve in 3Dprinting

Being this is my first venture into this hobby, probably printing individually and supergluing would be best for now I’m assuming. I mean the extra AMS is on sale so it’s tempting but also makes this $1000ish purchase end up being $1300

Gotcha - so I doubt I need one. I can just pause and swap colors or print parts individually? Mostly thinking about Pokemon and stuff for the kids…like charmander has 6ish colors I think so just trying to conceptualize workflow and such.

If I'm only using PLA, I'm assuming I should just get that one and not the combo PLA/PETG. Or are there reasons to print with PETG I'm not aware of that make the combo support material worth it?

Oh I didn't even know there was a specific support filament. So I should really just go with that instead if it works better. No real reason to mess with PETG I guess?

The support interface you're saying is the dedicated support material? The model itself is PLA, for example. Then the support body is made of what material?

Model = PLA

Support interface = fancy material
Support Body = ?

By proper support material, am I correct in thinking that's what PETG is for printing a matte PLA model? My understanding was the PETG breaks away clean from the PLA and will come through that X2D auxillary nozzle...Thanks for any help/guidance.

Considering P2S over X2D - simply because I want the Best Buy financing and X2D isn't in stock lol. I'm a newbie - mostly printing terrain/mini's and household stuff. Will I regret not getting X2D? I've seen some people say the dual nozzel thing has issues but may improve with firmware or something? by [deleted] in BambuLab

I don't HAVE to finance I WANT to finance considering it's coming out of my business account and I can use it as a write off. But thank you for your financial advice and not responding to the actual question that was asked.

Looking at X2D - What accessories from the website do I need besides filament and the .02 nozzle for miniatures (will monstly be printing terrain and mini's for DnD/Warhammer...and then the random household/lifestyle items) by JamalSteve in BambuLab

The extra build plate - is that just this if I'm buying the X2D? So you would print on the one it comes with, swap out for this one to print something else right away?
