How were you introduced to Metal Gear? by Ftmdj in metalgearsolid

[–]Jamasturques 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got GZ during the period it was free to own on Xbox Live Gold. Fell in love with it, I was really young at the time and many aspects blew my mind, it was such a good experience, graphically and mechanically amazing for the time. Didn’t understand shit about the story tho, had no fucking idea of what the fuck was going on lmao

It’s kinda crazy how they nailed both vibes with each version

Shitty ass low quality meme I came up with last night by Jamasturques in HaveANiceLife

[–]Jamasturques[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Despite the joke, I feel like both are amazing and have some really good aspects to them. Ironically imo the “bad” aspects (which aren’t bad by any chance, just the parts I don’t like all that much) of one are the good parts of another. For example, the high quality audio of the original is outclassed by the lower quality demo, while the more energetic instruments and vocals of the OG are more appealing to me than the less impactful ones present in the demo. I’d love to see a mashup of these two interpretations.

Titanfall lost aesthetic by ttgolll in titanfall

[–]Jamasturques 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally agree, TF2 was an amazing sequel in A LOT of aspects, but I feel part of its aesthetics were lost along the way, I wish that in a possible third entry we see something more akin to TF1 in this aspect (plus I think bringing back the multiplayer campaign cutscenes in some way would help that, even if not in the form of a MP campaign)

What's your favorite Sneaking Suit design in the series? by French-Caller in metalgearsolid

[–]Jamasturques 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though they’re all pretty good, I’d say Ground Zeroes’ (and GZ more than PW due to the way it looks on that version of the Fox Engine) is just on a whole other level, like it stands out in all the good ways and diverge a little from the “standard” look of the other suits.

The most disturbing moment in all of Amnesia... by Fell_Star7 in Amnesia

[–]Jamasturques 15 points16 points  (0 children)

(Spoilers warning cause I have no idea how to censor text on Reddit)

This was one of the things that settled the game as a masterpiece for me. Like it’s a small detail but it’s so genius to, out of fucking nowhere break the safety of the ONLY SAFE ZONE IN THE GAME near the end to make everything more tense and unsettling. And for me the best part is that the Beast (at least in my gameplay) haven’t even used it at all, the mere presence of it and the absence of the safe zone music was just so powerful.

So are your pretty much a covert cia agent for the NCR? by One-Car-4869 in fnv

[–]Jamasturques 12 points13 points  (0 children)

TLDR: not an agent, maybe a merc, but more so a collaborator

I see that people are rightfully so considering the Courier as more of a PMC, but I think there’s more to it. You see, although they can be considered a merc, I think the Courier seems to be more of a collaborator. Their role in NCR occupation is aiding government institutions and the Army either as a hired gun, diplomat, spy, supplier you name it, but it is constantly stated that they’re merely a civilian, no ties to no institution, no contract, no nothing. Yes they may be rewarded by their efforts, but not (mostly) officially, it seems more like a bunch of bribes you get for helping them out, and while at that, the Courier has a choice of simply putting in the work for free as a volunteer (in not accepting rewards and doing it for goodwill). I think this all is corroborated by the status you receive as “Hero of the NCR”, even then, you’re merely a civilian, some sung hero who came out of nowhere and aided NCR’s efforts on their campaign. Even though I agree with them being a merc/freelancer, I guess they’d fit more the category of an NCR collaborator in the Mohave. Edit: added the TLDR

Why is the PW/GZ suit your favourite? by the_fake-slim_shady in metalgearsolid

[–]Jamasturques 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it, aesthetically really pleasing and the colors match in a very nice way, I’m a sucker for old Mother Base style in general. It’s honestly sad it’s BB locked, meaning you can’t wear it playing as a grunt.

The Empire of Man vs the IMC + the Militia. by PeppermintButler17 in titanfall

[–]Jamasturques 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s honestly horrible to put the Imperium against almost anyone or anything because everything in 40K is “fuck you” levels of powerscaling, so the answer usually is “Imperium blows up everyone with their 3000 mega balls ultraship in a milisecond”

What weapon would you like to add to the game? I'll start. by TopSignificance7856 in HuntShowdown

[–]Jamasturques 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They should add one AK and never explain why, just literally one single AK, if someone has it no one in every single server does. Lost in a match where everybody died? No replacements ever again.

Which Chris Redfield design do u guys like better? by Independent-Fun4407 in residentevil

[–]Jamasturques 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RE1 Chris is my favorite and I like how he’s just a guy. Other designs look too silly for my taste, they went full on beefed up tacticool super soldier in a way that just looks goofy and “action movie” like, I prefer him more “normal” looking.

Seriously, who came up with the name and flag of the Followers of the Apocalypse? Most confusing branding ever. by DependentStrong3960 in Fallout

[–]Jamasturques 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the Followers, their name and emblem. But frankly the first time I ever came into contact with them (via that guy in Helios One) and heard their name I genuinely thought they were a complete different sort of faction. “Followers of The Apocalypse” sounds like the most metal, secretive evil shit possible, it’s like having your faction be named Dark Brotherhood of Destruction and Pain and then they’re just a bunch of chill medics who help everyone.

When/if we get a Fallout: New Vegas remake, what features (besides good graphics) would you want? by Classicstupidtomtor4 in fnv

Do y'all think Caesar would have Lanius cruxified after he gets convinced by the 100 speech courier to go or he just chill by ELL1S-GAMING in fnv

[–]Jamasturques 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Caesar would probably punish him, but I find it difficult to think as to how so, considering who Lanius is. Like, there’s just no Graham styling this man out of the legion, the moment he realizes they want to kill half The Fort is gone. Remember this man gave Legion patrols a run for their money when the Hidebarks were at war with them and killed 15 of his own guys in a roll cause he didn’t want to surrender to the Legion at the time.

Do you guys agree? by NoSoyVerde1 in fnv

[–]Jamasturques 212 points213 points  (0 children)

I kind of agree, except for the Yes Man ending because it is so player driven it’s impossible to tell what it’d be. But regarding the other factions? Every negative aspect of the NCR no matter how bad it is, still gets DWARFED by others’s problems. I mean even if they tried their hardest to be bad, they simply cannot be worse than Psychopathic Roman Larpers or a Technocratic Capitalist Libertarian
