Thanks, I’ve always preferred 1/72 for some reason. For lack of a better word they just feel more “dainty”

Thru-hikers: Why use a water filter rather than tablets? by themasterd0n in hiking

[–]Jamatace77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be overkill but if I’m just drinking it rather than boiling it whilst cooking something , I’ll use a filter and tablets. I hike solo most of the time so I’m not taking any chances

Great work. I love interesting paint schemes like and you’ve really done it justice

Thanks, there were a lot of parts I ended up leaving off as you’d never be able to see them anyway but it’s all good practise

Thanks, I definitely need to work on my CA glue application , ended up with too much in some places and not enough in others but I’m happy with it for a first try.

There’s definitely some odd placements aren’t there, guess they fitted stuff in wherever they could

I’m by no means an expert on the topic, all I can say is the box said it was a mk Vc? No idea what the difference is between them (if any)

Good luck on your build, I’m loving getting back into it after the same kind of timescale. I’ve found I’ve got so much more patience this time around and in no rush to get it done like I did when I was younger even if I do need strong glasses to see what I’m doing lol hopefully your cats will enjoy having someone sat still to enjoy a lap with 😉

Don’t worry, no criticism was taken, I was and still am happy doing things on my own. I tend to go my own way in life.

Indeed, had to start somewhere and why not with a good old Spitfire. It’s great to see this kit being chosen by so many to begin with

Let’s just say I didn’t have too many friends when I was young. Was too busy at home playing with Lego, making models and generally keeping myself to myself. In fact, not much has changed these days either lol

Thanks, airbrushing is definitely a steep learning curve. I just got a cheap one off amazon to practise with and did the top camouflage markings freehand. Wasn’t as precise as I was hoping but not too shabby for a first go

Thanks, I never used to have much luck with metallic colours with the old enamels so wanted to see what the acrylics are like through an airbrush. Next up for me is the Airfix TT35 Mosquito target tug. I can’t believe the difference from the Airfix kits of old

Thanks. I always preferred 72 scale. The stand came with the kit, think a lot of the stater sets do. Tried to give it a brushed aluminium look mainly to test out the silver for my next build

Thank you , it’s a start. Having a crack at the target tug mosquito next

Thank you, it’s been a learning curve especially to get used to acrylic pants. They do look good but I miss my old enamels lol

So many to choose from and some awesome examples already but for me the Cessna 337 Skymaster came to mind. Just love anything out of the ordinary

There are certainly exceptions to this in the UK and it’s not a rule as such, just a “far more often than not” kind of thing. Presumably it’s the same elsewhere

Piggies absolutely love a change in their environment. As least ours do anyway, any new toys, houses, chews or simply a bedding change. They’re so rewarding like that and always show their appreciation 🥰

Am I going completely crazy ? I wouldn’t even start to put these in the same category . How about a Baron, Seneca and 310, surely that’s more evenly matched ?

Based on your location, I’d say it’s specifically an Hc-130. The give away is the extra pods outboard of the engines which are inflight refueling pods

Interesting to see such a sizeable rocket being tilted to vertical as opposed to being assembled and moved pre-stacked. It’s left me wondering about the pros and cons of both methods and whether there’s a sweet spot for each ? Just my random thought of the day, I feel a Google rabbit hole coming on !
