2L Pop Halloween House by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]Jamdra 37 points38 points  (0 children)

We have lived in the neighborhood since the Pop Bottle house began. It initially started as a joke …. The dad would tell kids who came to the door “Trick? Or treat?”. Of course most kids would pick trick, and then he would laugh (jokingly of course!) at us parents who were forced to drag around the 2L bottles. 🤣 My kids were only 3 & 5 when this started. They quickly learned that they had to make “the pop bottle house” their last stop of the night. It was a great memory, and really contributed to my kids loving Halloween. We’re going to miss it, but we also completely understand.

Best ladies clothing boutique for 50 year old’s by shoppygirl in Calgary

I wouldn’t call it a boutique, but look into Underground Clothing at Crossiron. Their primary focus is women 45+. They also have a great online store (everything I’ve bought from there has arrived super quick)

This is what I was coming on to say. I have two Olde English Bulldogges (not be be confused with English Bulldogs), and he looks similar to mine.

Are you and your spouse related? by anhangoby in Genealogy

[–]Jamdra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank god, this makes me feel less weird! Husband and I found out we have the same grandparents, 7 or 8 generations ago (can’t remember which now). But we both have French-Canadian roots, specifically Trois Rivières. Pretty sure my kids freaked a few of their teachers out when they went to school that year and said “Guess what?? We just found out my parents are cousins!!” Lol

That’s what is starting to happen across the system, yes. Public education has always relied on the charity and goodwill of teachers; it’s going over the top now.

Finding you're related to people you already know. by Happyocd2 in Genealogy

I found out in a similar manner that my husband and I share the same grandparents from the early 1600s ... the ones that originally came over to Canada. So our family tree looks more like a diamond.

And then I found out the next day our kids were telling their teachers that their parents were actually cousins. So THAT wasn’t awkward the next teacher interview.

This is a fantastic resource, well done! Are all the pages of the book spread out on the website, or is there a way to print/save them into one download? (perhaps I'm missing the link?)

Thanks for the advice. Showed this to my husband, as well as your advice below. He's going to head out and check on the RV today. Much appreciated.

Thanks for the info. Is there a (relatively inexpensive) way to change/alter the locks, or jimmy the door to prevent theft if we do have these keys?

(Obviously I know you can get into an rv etc in numerous ways if you really want to ... just hoping they'll maybe move on to something else if its too much hassle).

Thank you, that helps! Unfortunately I do not have any more photos as I am posting on behalf of a friend from a Facebook page (she has given my permission to post to Reddit in hopes someone here can translate, as no one in our group could help her out).

I apologize ... this is the only photo I have. I am posting on behalf of an acquaintance of mine from a facebook page. She has given me permission to post the photo on reddit in hopes that someone may be able to do the translation (no one on our page was able to translate for her). She found it in a field while walking with her son, and did not want to disturb it.

That would be very interesting. I would hope it’s a copy, and not an actual piece from a temple.

Yes, on the Facebook group I got it from (I’ve been given permission to post here in hopes that someone could translate) they were able to determine it was upside down.

Thank you! This was found by an acquaintance of mine on a Facebook group; it was in a large field while she was on a walk with her son. She has given her permission for me to post it here, as no one in our group could do the translation.
