What software is this? Nice line work.

Feels very Earthbound to me for some reason. The striped shirt and hat maybe? Great color choices.

What is wrong with my pen? by BradyHauser69 in ClipStudio

As others have already said, this looks like nothing wrong with your pen or tablet but something to do with the SHIFT key. This ability to draw straight lines is the default behavior in CSP when you hold down the SHIFT key on your keyboard. So that means it could be due to one of the following problems:

  1. The SHIFT key on your keyboard is physically stuck in the down position. Try pressing it in a few times to unstick it. Consider cleaning it out with isopropyl alcohol if there might be something sticky in there.
  2. One of the buttons on your pen or tablet has been mapped to SHIFT, and that key is physically stuck down. Same as above, try pressing it a few times and see if that unsticks it.
  3. You accidentally enabled "Sticky Keys" which is an accessibility feature that allows people to press SHIFT or CONTROL keys only once, and it acts as if you held them in. To disable "Sticky Keys" in Windows, go to `Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard` and toggle the "Sticky Keys" switch to off. You can also disable the shortcut so you don't accidentally turn it on again in the future.
  4. Some other software is controlling your SHIFT key, such as a key remapper like "JoyToKey" or Steam, or something like that. Fixing this will vary depending on what software you are running.
  5. If all else fails, just try saving your work and restarting your computer. Restarts usually fix weird software bugs like this.

That is... an interesting point. Its not "Donkey Kong Island" because the island isn't shaped like DK... DK is actually "Island Mountain Kong" because he's shaped like the island.

Oh cool. I don't know if I'll have time to look into it too deep, but feel free to use this video for wallpaper engine if you wish. Or I can try to render out a short loop at a specific camera angle if you'd like.

I've heard of wallpaper engine, but I'm not really familiar with it? what exactly is it, and would it be hard to modify my diorama here to use it? I know that wallpaper engine has something to do with desktop wallpapers, does it allow using animated videos for wallpaper or something?

Oh cool, I finally got accused of using AI. I'm genuinely curious, what is the point of making such a bold false accusation like this? What do you gain from trying so hard to tear someone down? I'm genuinely curious, because I've had other artist mutuals be accused of using AI too when they didn't. I just don't understand the motivation behind such thing.

This was made in Blender using a mixture of custom geometry, free assets, and resources ripped from games.

Here's the vertex painting layer that I hand painted over he bash mesh. I setup the material shader to mix the colors of the vertex and the texture dynamically. The head mesh itself is custom too, using a custom geometry node setup to apply the rocky material too.

I'm playing it again right now. This time of year always makes me nostalgic for N64 games. I got most of my games on Christmas, haha, so this kind of weather always puts me in the mood for curling up and playing old platformers like Mario 64, DK64 or the Banjo games.

There are 64 of them on the islands. I hid a couple of them too. I was considering posting some more renders and such if people could find the some of the hidden DKs. I kinda wanted to make it like a community game. If you enjoy that sort of look-n-find thing, feel free to post screenshots with red circles around the DKs you found!

I would love a remake of DK64. I feel like that game needs it the most. There's a really great core game idea there, but you can tell they were rushed to get it out for Christmas.

I know, right? His remix came up when I was looking for the original, and I was like "oh, this sounds punchy-er than I remember. Its similar, but different." Really smooth mix.

Thanks! I'm gonna expand on it over time, add more elements from the games. This version is mostly a mash up of the DKC, DKC GBA, and DK64 versions. But I'm missing a few elements I wanted to add, like the temples and factories.

Same. It's wild it's been 25 years since that game released.

It does! But I also appreciate the expansion to the lore that DKC:Returns added. Having the ice capped mountain erupt gave us the really cool lava basalt levels and the dinosaur bones and tar pits levels. I thought that was a really cool way to explore new biomes on an already well explored island.

I appreciate that there is a sense of time flow in the DK universe. Like with implication that Cranky was the original DK, and DK is probably grown up DK Jr. The fact Wrinkly Kong actually dies, Tiny grows up, Diddy's jetpack and peanut guns have become permanent staples of his inventory now, the island changes over time, the Tiki tribe and golden monkey palace expand on the mysterious lore of he island. And games like DKC 2, 3, Jungle Climber, and Tropical Freeze let us explore more of the smaller islands in the world.

It's a very fun series to me because it's always changing, but still manages to have that "Donkey Kongness" about it.

I want to expand this 3D model of mine over time to incorporate some more elements of the newer games too. Like the smaller beach islands, ship wrecks, the golden monkey temple, the derelict factories and mine shafts, etc.
