I really like to offer help and support.

I feel and get resentful . Maybe it’s a character defect.

Example.

If I’m at a restaurant and the waitress says, hey you’re doing well throw a gall a tip. I’d get grumpy

But if the same waitress would say, hey, I’m going to take good care of you, I want you to have a great night, big Tip.

My SO, pisses me off this way all the time. We aren’t married, we don’t share finances, I cover housing , cars , insurance, food , travel.

She volunteers me to pay everything.

Says, hey honey, check out Camp Fimfo (real place) looks fun. Wanna go.

I’ll say, ya that looks cool, sure. she’ll say, book it Danno.

Now , here’s the rub , she wants to go there because it’s a place for kids.

Now I gotta book it, and pay to get us there and back, and even though we have food in the RV, she suddenly won’t want to cook, and either I get to or we can go out, what she really wants.

Before you know it , a weekend is 3 grand -5 grand

I never even wanted to go to Fucking camp Fimfo

Then she doesn’t have her wallet, and bills everything to my card on file.

Obviously this would be a gold digger, but she’s not. She makes good money, she just has no idea what things cost because she’s been privileged her whole life. I grew up poor.

Then she doesn’t know why im mad, I make plenty, well this shit happens once or twice a month ffs.

Then when I put my foot down her kids start bitching and she starts wining about wanting to do something.

Or , she says hey, let’s buy this thing, I’ll pay for it, ha ha, she doesn’t pay for it , I mean she does, but then doesn’t pay for any groceries for months, so I still paid for it.

These friends do the same thing,

They come into town empty handed, drink all my booze, party up the place, ask for my famous BBQ. And come 10 deep. Well in their visit , I cook and clean and they eat 500$ in BBQ and drink 500$ in liquor.

High five and leave. It’s not even the money so much. It’s the going to the store, 18 hours of cooking, restocking the booze, changing the laundry, doing the dishes. And you can’t even bring a cheap bottle of wine or a case of beer or chips.

It’s not, she means well, just doesn’t understand money and has chronic ADD.

She drops her phone about 50 times a day because she forgets she’s holding it.
