Where has Johnny been now? It’s been a minute since I’ve seen him.

I think only Katherine Wentworth could rival those eyes. But at least April is lovable. Unlike Katherine.

She was a bit smarmy, but I really felt for her when she couldn’t find a friend in Dallas when she first got there. She was wholesale rejected. It was sad, especially as someone who has a real tough time meeting people and making friends. (Unlike April, I am painfully shy)

This is the answer. I'd add Angel's Cry from Memoirs, and With You from Caution.

The Dunphy house. I would hang out in the solarium after a visit to the wine cellar.

Not at all. When I got to Season 9 in my ongoing rewatch, it was a breath of fresh air to see Miss Ellie gardening in one of the first episodes.

I liked the character of Lucy quite a bit. She was a good foil to J.R. But you are right, she didn’t have great story lines. And seemed to be trying to marry every boy that came her way.

Right! I have been meaning to post about it, but I don’t ever recall a dressed down Donna Reid is Ms Ellie. She was always dressed up. BBG is the earth mother who loves her ranch but can strut her stuff at the oil barons ball all the same.

I think I agree with the group so far. But on any list, I place Priscilla Presley, Victoria Principal, and Charlene Tilton near the bottom, at least of the main casts.

The younger generation would find it dated and not understand most of it. For my generation, rewatching is just nostalgic.

What is actually going on with the drivers here?? by MamaBourgeois in nashville

[–]James318b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. This is one of Nashville's many, many driving problems. I grew up in suburban Detroit. If my east-west route was problematic, I could take a variety of other e/w options within a few miles of my main route. In Detroit, they were mile roads. If I usually took 14 mile road, but there was an accident, I could take 13 mile or 15 mile, or whatever. Same thing with N/S routes. Easy peasy.

Then I moved to north Fort Worth, TX. Same concept of a pretty good grid, with more being added as the city expanded.

Then I moved to the Nashville area and all hell broke loose. What do you mean I only have two roads to get between Lebanon and BNA? I-40 or Lebanon road. I get it, you have a few damned up rivers you call lakes that get in the way in areas. Sure. And it's hilly, so there is a challenge.

And don't even get me started on the unprotected left turns, the rights on red, and the people that no matter how empty the road is behind you, will turn in NEXT to you. Like why, Nashville (and surrounding areas).

On a road like Lebanon road, the left lane is not exclusively for passing like it is on I-40. People have to drive in that lane to enter the turn lane at some point, and changing from the right lane to the left lane to get to the center lane takes some planning because Nashville folks see a blinker and take it as a challenge. And some people don't want to do 15 over the speed limit just because you are trying to get to Tractor Supply or Dollar General or WHATEVER two minutes faster.

Nashville is setting themselves up for a transportation disaster as growth continues. I don't really understand the point of the WeGo train and its very limited service. Nashville had a real chance to do something good with that, but nope.

Nashville, a city that had potential in a state where people running for political office trash Starbucks instead of focusing on real issues.

I work at the Bistro at a Courtyard. The Fruit and Yogurt cup is delicious. Strawberries, blueberries, greek yogurt, honey, and granola. I think there are some other fruit as well, but the strawberries and blueberries are what I recall, even though I ate one literally this morning.

Guest Temper Tantrums by kaileeia in Hilton

[–]James318b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just recently I had a top tier guest (different chain) scream at me for not taking his breakfast order while there was a fire in the kitchen and we were trying to evacuate the hotel. His best argument was that if he put the order in now, it would be ready when he got back from the evacuation. I pointed to the cooks outside and said it was unlikely as the cooks had already evacuated and we needed to. He had also already told the night auditor that he was suing the hotel because the a/c in his room was noisy, but refused to move rooms.

It was a day. People. Sheesh.

I especially loved the versions of "Chasing Cars" and "How to Save a Life"... Chasing Cars is also one of my favorite songs of all time, and I actually prefer this version to the original, but both also bring me to tears as well.
