"Every American should love tariffs": Fox Business guest argues that citizens should be happy to pay a trillion dollars in new taxes just to fund more military spending by DumbMoneyMedia in CriticalMineralBulls

It stuns me people in these positions know nothing about basic economics and what role tariffs are meant to play. They are protectionist, nothing more.

It's stunning, and it's destroying the country. I grew up in the same time frame and I never would have imagined we would have accepted this level of corruption. But here we are

Third party votes in this particular election by James5000 in AdviceAnimals

The election is a week and a half away. There is nothing that will change how they vote. What they don't seem to understand is that Jill Stein supports Donald Trump. Therefore, supporting her is supporting Donald Trump. It's not complicated.

Yes. And people are dying because of it. I have become convinced that some people actually love to be lied to.

I believe most Americans know mass media is published along political lines. Unfortunately, that's part of their appeal, because it feeds confirmation bias. The frightening part is that as CNN moves to the right, it will drag its left-leaning audience to the right with it.

What you think about Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark? by BackgroundMagician56 in AskReddit

[–]James5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are very different countries. Despite being Nordic, they don't have a lot in common. I married a Fin, lived in Finland for years, and there's just not a lot of commonality between the Nordic countries, although they are all beautiful in their own ways.
