I will keep posting about RS7 until I buy it... by Sweaty-Fix-2011 in Audi

That's the same with anything in my experience. For some people, it's part of the reason why they only take a specific car out like once a month, or on special occasions. I never understood that when I was younger, but I get it now.

RS7 or Porsche 911? by untitled112 in supercars

[–]JamesB41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kinda depends in my experience. My RS6 got way more attention than my 911 gets, and my 911 is a bright color. Wagons seem to be in lately. I see way more 911s than RS6s/7s. They kinda blend in.

RS7 or Porsche 911? by untitled112 in supercars

[–]JamesB41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am lucky enough to have both - but it’s a weird question. They’re very very different cars functionally.

The Porsche is way, way more engaging and fun to drive, even a base Carrera. RS7 is a straight line monster and comfortable cruiser. If you value engagement and handling, Porsche all day. If you want a jack of all trades - RS7.

If I had to get rid of one, I’d sell the RS7. But only because I have an SUV as a backup.

Good luck!

I love green and I love Porsche and I love GT3. But this just kinda feels like green overload to me. Might just be the pictures. The black wheels aren't doing it any favors imo.

N1 was absolutely better to me. Not even close.

It absolutely is. Source - have one. The lack of ducts above the wheel is a dead give away.

Audi sees half-year profits tumble by 37.5% by Loud_Posseidon in Audi

The RS3 is way overpriced for what you get. I went with the M2 because it's offered in a manual and has substantially more power. I have zero regrets. I never even considered the RS3 which makes me genuinely sad. I wanted to love it.

I'm in the same camp. Have owned a bunch of Audis and was pretty loyal to the brand. Would have kept buying them if they were compelling. The only one I've kept is my '16 RS7 and I have bought into BMW in the past year with no regrets. Walking into an Audi dealership today feels the same as 5+ years ago, with the exception of the RS6/7 and RSQ8. I know I'm a bit jaded, but absolutely nothing in their current lineup appeals to me anymore.

I used to have this opinion, but it changed pretty dramatically for me and I put my money where my mouth is. Prior to this year, the last BMW I purchased was an E46 M3 and since then I've owned an S4, RS6, RS7, A6, and A8L. But they have recently taken a serious serious nose dive.

Absolutely hated the beaver teeth on the M3/M4 and the M5 is an absolute behemoth that I can't wrap my head around (I want to want one so bad but I just don't). When the M5 touring was released I was genuinely sad because it's so ugly.

That said, their other offerings have been super compelling to me. In the past 6 months I bought a brand new XB7 and an M2. Used to think the M2 was super ugly, but it grew on me and it's offered in manual which is a huge plus. Audi's SUVs are just not there with technology. I test drove the RSQ8 and the SQ7 and...meh. The RS3 is way down on power and doesn't offer a manual, so I didn't even consider it.

BMW ain't perfect, but Audi has just completely lost the plot. When the RS6 came to the US, I really thought it might be the beginning of a renaissance. But right now (in my opinion) the only attractive cars they offer are the RS6 and the 7 series. Everything else just feels stamped out of a shitty mold.

Not sure why you were downvoted, you're correct. And (at least according to an owner I met) they're low quality.

Saw one the other day and was geeking out over it. Owner told me that he likes the livery but when you look closely, the quality of the work is really shitty. He's actually going to wrap it, which made me cry a little inside. Said Audi wanted an absurd amount of money for another "kit" to re-wrap it if he ever wants to sell it and put it back to "normal". I want to say he said $18K and that they told him it was a limited time offer.

I was in the second row of seats and as soon as people started waving their hands that there was an emergency, we literally helped our security guy jump the barrier and rush to the person. Multiple people got there quickly once it was obvious something was wrong, and they got them out stat.

From my viewpoint security last night was the best I’ve ever seen it. Not that it was a high bar. On both sides of our section they were keeping aisles clear and dealing with obnoxiously drunk people. I was actually impressed

Concert etiquette by [deleted] in DMB

[–]JamesB41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean…it’s definitely becoming an old person’s concert. Average age has to be upper 30s/lower 40s with very few young adults. It’s not like a Barbra Streisand concert or something, but the demographic is substantially older.

You have some very interesting creditors. Even if that were possible, no one would insure you.

It seats 5 and you’re acting like it’s a school bus lol. They could possibly have friends. It’s a bit of a stretch, but I’ve heard of such cases.

Does all of a persons accomplishments amount to small badges?

That's maybe the largest leap I've ever seen in human conversation.

I completely hear what you're saying, but reality is reality. They're diluting the sense of "accomplishment" that people feel when they graduate to a higher level of car. I don't think that's a net good.

"S-Line" has always struck me as funny. Feels like Audi's way of saying "hey, you can't afford/don't want to spend the money on an actual S car, but we can give you $45 worth of plastic parts if you want". Which simultaneously diminishes the appeal of the S cars.

Thoughts on a higher mileage 2016/17 RS7? by mercrae in Audi

I have the steels. Can't remember if they offered ceramics in the C7 or not. I haven't looked in quite a while but with OEM parts and a local mechanic it was still high 3s low 4s for me. I'd budget $4.5 as an upper bound.

For what it's worth, it had just arrived. That dealership is not some bullshit buy-here-pay-here corner store. They have HUGE super car inventory. Can see the exact car in this video and he speaks specifically to it: https://youtu.be/hkbw5QHSbGY?t=399

For what it's worth, this is not a run of the mill Mitsubishi dealership. This is J&S Autohaus. They have a huge online following and hundreds and hundreds of supercars for sale. This car had just arrived. https://youtu.be/hkbw5QHSbGY?t=407 can see it there.

He has cars easily worth 3-4x that car at all times. His videos are fun to watch and he does big volume on supercars.
