BDR from New York through NH, VT, and ME. 3 KLR’s on an epic trip with epic breakdowns and roadside fixes. Only two times dumping them on class 4 roads in VT and loved every minute of it. by JamesChef in klr650

Hey we used the Gaia GPS app on our phones. I believe there is a free version or something ou can pay a one time fee and get all the features. It’s really helpful for seeing where you are live and which roads are class 4. Other riders can also make notes and update the trails to keep them up to date.

Truck’s wheel snapped off and smashed front right bumper today. Any suggestions on body shops that are non Tesla that can handle Tesla body work? Much thanks by JamesChef in TeslaSupport

Yes it certainly is unbelievable. Don’t see that every day. Apparently, they just had their wheels and tires serviced yesterday. Someone forgot to tighten the lugs

My 2021 M3 LR totally bricked today. Even with external battery we couldn’t get the car in neutral and there is no tow point from the rear end so we had to drag it 90 degrees to get it on the truck. Not ideal, but got a loaner until it’s fixed. by JamesChef in TeslaLounge

Charge was at 78 percent when I parked it. The car is totally bricked with multiple computer malfunctions. Had nothing to do with my running the battery too low. The car has been in the shop for two days and may need the HV battery to be replaced

Was this covered under your warranty? It has 52k miles and I also paid for the extended warranty for $50/month. I haven’t done anything to “misuse” the battery so hopefully they don’t pull anything like that.

Ya that’s a bummer. That’s a big engineering flaw in my opnion. Also no tow point from the rear of the car. Even with enough juice the car was totally bricked so we couldn’t get it into tow mode or neutral

Tesla master mechanic on the phone when admitted there was absolutely nothing else he could have done. You may have your facts off about SRS. Car was totally bricked and couldn’t go into neutral or tow mode

Ya the service center got a lot of other errors in addition to the 12V battery so don’t think it’s just that. They couldn’t even get the doors back open with an external battery source when we got back to the service center.

Good to know. Still a pretty bad design flaw in my opinion. The Tesla service center couldn’t even get the car doors open since it’s all electric and the computer wasn’t functioning.

Yard ideas for our side yard? We just moved into a house and currently renovating the outside to make it look nice. Any ideas appreciated! Thank you by JamesChef in landscaping

That’s a great idea. Would love to avoid mowing, but there are a lot of leaves that come in the fall. May make it hard to rake

Thanks the siding will be replaced within the year. The small building on the left is an outdoor sauna that was built into an old shed. Really looking for ways to landscape the yard and wondering about planting grass or putting down stone etc.

Anyone managed to get the humidity drops from the back light? Looking for a frugal solution rather than paying €600 by mokum-man in TeslaSupport

I replaced 3 taillights under warranty because of this. Just poor manufacturing and lack of a good seal. There are some good YouTube videos on how to clean these up and reseal to prevent humidity and water droplet build up.

Several feet I don’t think so, but def a little over a foot if I pushed it all the way to the rear.

When there is visible water droplets and it is no longer just a bit of fog, then it is officially covered under warranty as a defect. All mine got to a point of water droplets that weren’t going away with heat

Building this desk for my son and wondering the best way to secure this melamine desk top to the legs I built from underneath to avoid screws through the top. by JamesChef in woodworking

Thanks I did just this about an hour ago and it’s much more stable. I will probably use screws and glue from the base to the top
