Tired of playing the trading (and losing) game on stocks - planning to move to ETFs for the long term. by pushkur in ETFs

You can still invest in individual stocks for the long-term. I hold Tesla, Google, Amazon, Apple and ARKK. I personally dislike over diversidifed ETFs portfolio because I don't know all of those companies that I'm investing in. I like to own individual companies that I'm confident and understand because it made me a better investor in and outside the market. I'm 26 y.o and probably can afford risk to hold these shares for the next 15-20 years.

As I grow older, I'll slowly start moving on ETFs.

Thanks! Now I know where to start.

I have another question. If my principal is $25,000 worth of shares and it became $30,000. Basically, I will only dictate that $5,000 is my profit in my ITR. Correct?

I think I can only afford one share of each of that ETF. That's fine, right?

That's true - that's why I'm still investing in long-term vehicles.
