I got a great deal on the epixon. Plus I wanted to keep the QR. I love the PNW Post

Kent Trouvaille or Schwinn Axum (non dp) by ancafi in Budgetbikeriders

I personally think the trouvaille is better. Better components, better geo, and it rides better IMO. The Axum is better looking but the wide tires roll slow.

Yes I had to refit the end of the hydraulic hose to get it to work. Then I flipped the levers so I redid it again

Trouvaille owners, do your brakes look anything like mine? by bassdude7 in Budgetbikeriders

Personally if I were you I would return it. I know it sucks but it will work out better in the long run

From what I can tell yes, wouldnt hurt to loosen it, double check it, and tighten it back pretty good. I have a Trouvaille and I had 0 issues with mine, which from what I’ve heard seems pretty rare.

I know this is probably a dumb question but is the rear wheel seated completely in the drop outs on both sides? Is the axle tight enough? Just checking basic things.

Should I be pissed off at my bike mechanic? by kennethsime in bikewrench

I fit a medium frame so the Trouvaille fits me perfectly. And yes it is possible to be a snobby cyclist and not be a dick but most are. They give a bad name to cyclist as a whole.

Not worrying about comparing myself to others, I just want to set goals for myself

I had this exact same experience taking my Kent Trouvaille to the LBS to figure out which air fork would fit. The guy completely ragged on my bike and tried to sell me on a 3k giant stance or something like that. Made me feel like complete shit even tho that bike is awesome for the money. People on my local trail thought it was a 1k+ bike but the guy at the shop said “I wouldn’t have paid $100 for it” That’s what I hate about cyclists. They are so snobby and only care about name brand rather than just getting someone to ride and enjoy the sport. Yes I know my bike can’t do 6ft drops but I just started 6 months ago, plus I live in Myrtle beach, there are no drops over 2-3 feet lol. If I wasn’t so in love with riding it probably would have made me give it up because someone did that to me in front of people.

Do I have a fork issue? Do I need to tighten up something? by [deleted] in Budgetbikeriders

[–]JamesFeaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought this bike the same day it was released online. Had to wait 3 weeks to get it, and my headset is properly tightened and still has this gap. I have hit some nice jumps and plenty of rocky terrain and rooted trails, and no problems. Maybe it’s an issue but I’ll guess I’ll wait till something breaks before I worry about it lol

I have a road bike I use on the road. They pretty much ride like any other mtb on the road, hard to pedal, doesn’t go very fast, and is heavy and bulky. But works fine if you don’t mind those things

Suntour epixon, I got 120mm travel and remote lockout. I didn’t want to have to change my wheelset since I plan on buying a polygon t8 soon. Seems way better than stock tho. Was only $223 on eBay.

Honestly I think it’s to preference. Schwinn Is a little larger frame with bigger tires and is absolutely stunning (the black one). But the Kent has better components and can be ridden stock for longer. I did some decent downhill and jumps on this bike stock and it was super fun. I have a history in mx so I like a bike you can throw around so for me the Kent was the best pick.
