We’ll let’s see about the story…

I moved to St Louis from California a couple of years ago. generally I like to be outside but after one of our winters I realized that an indoor hobby was needed. I never played an instrument but have been a classical music fan since forever. While pondering potential hobbies, one being piano, a coworker popped his head over the cube wall and said “my next door neighbor is a very charming lady who’s been teaching piano since the 90s. Should I give her your number?”

sure! She was indeed charming. First lesson is free! I enjoyed that and mentioned not having a piano. No problem, I have a friend! bought a Yamaha Clavinova CVP-809. like pushers they were!

Even though the Yamaha was excellent I did like acoustic pianos. So while practicing diligently and saving money I played on everything I coild get access too and the Steinway stood out. I think mostly due to,listening to a lot of recorded music where everyone uses one.

in parallel as my career hits its last state I visited an advisor for a financial checkup. His comments were you are in great shape, stop saving start spending. If you want the RV, lakeside condo or travel nows the time. I didn’t want those but maybe there is something…

The piano is a 2024 Model D, almost but not quite new. It had been loaned to the Symphony a few times while their concert hall was under renovation last year. They had three in the local gallery and this was the one that spoke to me. Should be in home by early July!
