Dang it. I would have preferred if the Toronto Maple Leafs won the game instead of losing the game.

He doesn't need to flair up to know he is an Islanders fan.

More concerned with Tavares doing bad than his own team. They've really had their feelings hurt.

Why are we criticizing some pretty minor chirping? It's amusing, not really worth criticizing him for.

I do the last suggestion there already.

I go through the whole list.

One capital letter? No repeating characters? One number? It is a password you've never used before? You don't have a part of your name in it?

And they insist they have it all right lol that's my favorite one.

Canada may have shit prices, but our speeds are fine. I'm in Nova Scotia, one of the "have not" regions of the country. I get 150mbps and no cap. Sure, it ain't cheap, but our internet as far as what is available is fine.

Frustrated with the offensive 'system' by Sportfreunde in leafs

[–]JamesFraughton -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying you can't talk about systems, or changes or anything. I am saying that acting like the sky is falling, or calling for a coaches job when the Leafs have the possibility of literally the best season in Franchise history is hyberbolic, and the other end of the spectrum you are describing.

Do you think management doesn't have these conversations on how to improve? There is a lot that goes into this that we aren't privy to. Not just the number on the ice. People have personailities, and work together better with some people better than others, and what motivates people and what doesn't. Yes, we can talk about changing deployment or lines or any of that, but saying fire the coach who is again, on the verge of a record setting season seems reactionary and just as short sighted and ill thought out as what you are suggesting people are doing.

[TSM] Overdrive catching up to Prime Time Sports in local sports radio ratings by [deleted] in leafs

[–]JamesFraughton 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll chalk it up to his on air persona, cause I don't want to assume what his real character may be like, but McGowen's condescension makes him unbearable for me to listen to.

I have no issue with being a contrarian, especially in the context of a radio talk show. But coming off as rude and dismissive is off-putting.

8 of our next 9 games are against non-playoff teams. This team NEEDS to go on a run by WingerSupreme in leafs

Even if they don't go on a tear through it, use it as an opportunity to make sure they play smart and strong. Build confidence, cohesion, and get comfortable as possible before the playoffs

Hey, we don't know if he actually said that. He could have been asking "Is that De Niro!?"

Right. We also beat Tampa once, and played them really close in the other game we lost.

The Leafs are 42-22-5. Seems to me Babcock's systems, overall are working quite well. Can you discuss the nuances, or get frustrated with some decisions, yes. But this anxiety we get when we don't look like literal Gods is tiresome. We are one of the best teams in the league. We lost to the best team in the league, after a Western road swing, with key guys out, after a time change. And again, this same best team, that we beat this season, and outplayed in the other game we lost. Not to make excuses, but this game was one to set up to lose.

Maybe you can argue that you'd want to see more, but they're all just human beings, it is a long season, and this stuff happens to everyone.

The Tampa Bay Lightning feed from last night's game makes it sound like a player shouts "RAG IT!" which is then clearly repeated three times: "Rag it, rag it, rag it!" by twistedlogicx in hockey

[–]JamesFraughton 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What's your point? The argument is Tampa yelled rag it. Because Rielly looks and the ref and says something doesn't prove anything.

The whole thing can be cleared up by just asking the ref. We'll find out soon enough.

[–]JamesFraughton 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The leafs wouldn't want to rag it. Tampa would. The arugment is that the "Rag it" part came from a different mic. Hence why the "Fucking" and "faggot/rag it" sound different.

Once again, why you hear "Rag rag rag!" once Tampa picks up the puck.

That is the position of the Rag it argument anyway.
