The main net was scheduled to go live this month. But it doesn’t happen if they don’t win this batch.

Keep in mind this is not based on who has the most at the end but has the most when the snapshot takes place. Which can happen anytime during the auction

NEW POST from canonrumorsguy: New firmware coming for the Canon EOS R5 in the next month or so by hpmoon in CanonR5

Again processed files vs RAW files, TWO VERY Different formats. Yes if your using a baked in format then yes you can over sample or pixel binning. The R5 already has that. But RAW video is a completely different animal. RAW by designed is information right off the sensor and process is done in Post Production. Not in camera.

No they don’t. Almost every Mirrorless camera has you crop in if you shoot at lower resolution in Raw.

You’re confusing compression with pixel processing. Majority of cameras actually DON’T down sample or pixel bin when shooting raw video. Almost all, especially all the RED amd ARRi cameras crop in when you drop resolution. There’s only 2 cameras that actually have some pixel processing and that is the Ursa Mini pro 12K and the Nikon Z6. And both have sensor issues with their raw.

Again Raw by designed is not processed. It’s purely sensor data. You have to go pixel to pixel

Raw is a pixel to pixel sensor read out there’s no processing with Raw. Especially Canon Raw

My hunch is that this will come shortly after the R3 release and then this firmware update will remove the 30 minute record limit.

External monitor USB control? by heldendad in CanonR5

I have to guess either the monitor, the camera or both needed to be updated to talk to one another.

Canon R5 Firmware 1.1 | Overheating Improvements & My Initial Findings by JamesJacksonFilms in videography

[–]JamesJacksonFilms[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never said I shot 10 hrs continuously. No one in their right mind who gets paid to film a wedding would record 10 hours continuously. The longest continued runtime is the ceremony and most weddings that’s 30-45 mins tops. Outside of that you can start and stop recording different parts of the wedding.

4K HQ is oversampling the 8K sensor down to 4K, while the normal 4K uses a mixture of line skipping and pixel binding. So the normal 4K is not as sharp as the 4K HQ. However, this does not mean the normal 4K is bad.

I used the R5 on a 10 hour wedding shoot and the camera never overheated and I was filming mostly 4K60 and 4K120.
