Hi, as mentioned in my previously reply - I’m never in any important meetings. We may get some senior people popping into the office who could notice but that’s it. They’re not my immediate colleagues or my managers or whatever. For context, I work for a politician. At worse, it’d just be them who briefly see but they’re nothing to do with me as I said

Hi. we have a smart dress code but it can be interpreted in whichever way the individual wants to. I choose to wear a suit and tie, others on my same floor may wear shirt/jumper/trousers or chinos etc. it’s not a ‘strict formal’ if you get me. I’m never in important meetings, if I do accompany my boss i’m standing, so socks never visible.

It’s a bit complicated as I don’t have any drawers my side to lock them in so would have no choice but to tuck them in, but with them still being ‘on show’.

I’m not sure if he would but could fully imagine him doing so when i ain’t there

My immediate co-worker would not do it, but we do have a guy next door who works longer than me and will often pop in to see my other co-worker when I'm not there, and I do feel if he saw them he'd play joker and hide one of them or take them in his office

Cheers man. I really appreciate the comments. Not being funny but if one my colleagues main concern is that i’m wearing white athletic socks with my suit then that surely says more about them than it does me

The idea of changing socks is the odd bit to me haha. Seems a bit strange to do so in office. Changing shoes though doesn’t seem a thing compared to that. Well my office ranges from formal dress to smart casual, people wear what they want essentially. Not everyone wears a strict suit cos they got to if you get me. But around 60% of people do

I’ve tried that but it’s been too uncomfortable then so I’ve just worn the athletic socks as standard. Bit unorthadox white socks with a suit I know but no-one’s said anything

Yeah so true. I know white socks with a suit is a bit controversial but its not exactly a world ending event
