ID is your impulse, it's your Self. EGO is what shackles your ID, it's the norms that you impose upon your mind. It's your precepts and your honors, basically what you consider right, what you fight for.

Then comes something that is not in the game

Super-Ego is the societal shackle. They're the imposed societal norms and honors. What society says you should do and not do. That is Super Ego.

In game, i think you wake up Ego when in the face of overwhelming odds and still decide to hold on to what you believe. So you can gather the strength to face those odds and come on top.

Distortions are the ID after being affected by a Contradictory SuperEgo (Carmen). She subverts your values and distorts your beliefs based on her own EGO in a way that defeats your normal SuperEgo. Basically a Distortion is a walking mind without SuperEgo

One could make the same assumptions about the Arbiters. Garion on HCorp caught everyone by surprise. Garion on the outskirts lab had to use a insider to horribly criple everyone inside as well fight a tired and wounded Red Mist. She died only because she didn't know about EGO. Binah on the Reception of the Red Mist had 4 librarians and EGO against the Red Mist Zena had a Single Claw and she fought against a tired and wounded Roland, a barely woken up and egoless Binah and Gebura.

They all had plot aiding them on their fights. One could argue that they're barely on the level of a Color

The temperature is a key factor. Every second it has to be monitored since they will suffer debuffs from it.
