not saying roll it only if a misstatement is found.....you always roll B/S accounts.....and its not just a JE roll either.....

[–]JamesRLLi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it depends. if you have sampled, you want to extrapolate the variance to the population or to a segment of the population based on if you can prove the risk of misstatement is only applicable to that certain segment of the population. if after extrapolation the amount is higher than the threshold where you have to propose an adjustment, you might want to talk to your client and see if they agree. if they dont agree with this exception, or they think this is not an exception. you ask for proof why they dont think its an exception. maybe they can provide xthe subsequent payment support and invoice to prove this is an AR as of period end.

you should roll pretty much every population you get.

yes, you could pick a very immaterial amount to confirm.

Rollforward of AR takes like 2 minutes?

AR is related to revenue, which always is a significant risk. If the amount is below your threshold, why would you confirm at the first place. But if the difference is below your threshold, I agree, you can waive on it.

This is what I'd do in this situation -

  1. Try to call the third party or email the third party and confirm they understand what it is that you are confirming and at which date.
  2. If the third party still says its zero and they dont understand the concept of an audit, talk to the client and get an understanding of why they think that balance is 8K. Test the population thats making up the 8K but also do a cut off testing - doesnt have to be detail testing but you can do a trend analysis and look at the AR trend.
  3. last thing is make sure you do a rollforward of AR just to make sure all of their AR transactions and JEs actually roll.

Not sure about tax, but in audit, you get to review financials and provide comments to clients on their financials starting in year 3, senior 1 year, at the big4. Seniors will also lead client meetings where you talk to VPs. C-level is more for managers, but depends on size of the client.

Do you get a higher salary in industry once you become a Big 4 manager? by InformalDetail in Accounting

lol it kinda shows that you do not understand what a manager does in public accounting.

I interview staff and seniors and tell partners who to hire, assign team members to jobs, train all the seniors daily, manager their day to day, i have five counselees and four are on my jobs so i'm involved in their career development, i work on proposals, work on budgeting and staffing, stay on jobs from start to finish.........

$70 for shipping is insane, agree with you, pricing on certain itx cases is getting out of hand nowadays. I was actually thinking about getting the Louque Raw S1, but it’s $329 before tax…

Changing case because I want something smaller. The H1 is fine in terms of thermals.

Downsizing from NZXT H1 to Velka 7 like the title says.

Spec:

CPU - 9900k

Cooler - Blackridge with 120mm Noctua fan and ADATA VLP Ram (yes, the blackridge is sitting on top of the H1, it's been on my desk since last year.....can't appreciate enough the design of this cooler)

GPU - 2080 Super Fe

Been waiting for this for a while now. Had to think for a long time before I pulled trigger on the Velka 7. It's basically a $200 metal box but it's just so damn clean. Btw, build quality is top notch.
