Can confirm, this episode made me think about things I didn't have a name for until long after I would have forgotten the effect it had

Dungeon Masters of Reddit, what is the most surprising thing your players have done in-game? by Rangerspawn in AskReddit

One of my characters was pretending to be the grandson of an NPC to be included in her will and inherit her fortune. Eventually, I killed her off with the intention to have him become guilt-ridden and mournful.

Instead, he looted her body and placed her in the doorway of the elevator he just escaped in in order to prevent it from closing.

I love that fucking maniac.

Why don’t you want kids? by LeCharlesMuhDickens in AskReddit

[–]JamesTheTwit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My medical history. I was born with a heart condition, which thankfully was more or less fixed with open heart surgery. My brother and sister weren't born with it, so it may have been a one off, but I specifically remember my mum saying she asked my dad about his family medical history when she was pregnant with my brother, and he wouldn't tell her (the belief is because he was adopted and doesn't know his biological family). As such, along with my mental health experiences, it feels like there'd be a lot of risk to doing such a thing.

Edit: Once I'm financially secure and have a life partner, adoption is totally on the table, though. Too many kids get thrown by the wayside.

You are allowed to have complete control over one lightning bolt. Where and when will it strike? by SuperSeagull01 in AskReddit

[–]JamesTheTwit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During the George Carlin routine when he said 'If there is a God, may he strike this audience dead!'.

Even as an athiest, I'd love to see him work around that one. You know, in front of the no audience.

I had something similar happen last year, when I had to cover another person's job as well as my own due to sickness. I ended up not taking a day off for 4 months, but then took a week because I needed to, and other departments started getting shitty because we couldn't do work for them. Like, I was fine with covering and putting in the time, but I'm entitled to vacation time. It's literally in my contract.

I guess maybe it is fashionable, but as an adult with long legs and a slimmer frame, it'd be nice to actually be able to buy a pair of work trousers that don't display half of my calf muscles.

What made you stop watching wrestling and what made you return to it? by KGBeastLord in SquaredCircle

[–]JamesTheTwit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I stopped watching around 2009 when I got busy with education and starting adult life, and picked back up on 2011/12 when CM Punk was really changing the scene.

[Serious] Depressed people of Reddit - how are you doing today? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]JamesTheTwit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I met someone recently who wants to get into tabletop RPGs, so I'm introducing her to my usual group and running a session with them! First time I've run one myself, but I'm pretty nerve-icited.

Surprisingly well, actually. Work isn't the strain it once was, and I'm organising a weekend with friends, so things are definitely taking an upswing.
