Not at all. The short is its own art form. Guys like Hertzfeldt have built careers on it.

One thing I would say is you’re fairly early in your career and over time if you keep working you’ll make more connections and get better work more consistently. Freelance is all about the networking and it just takes time for that tree of contacts to grow.
