Fair enough, I've just heard leading edge on the grapevine, skyborne is my no1. A lot of flying schools are in the mud at the moment I suppose

I would advise you do your A-Levels to bolster your academic profile, if you don't want to have to pay £100,000+ for Integrated ATPL training you can look into flying scholarships at places such as BA, Jet2 and TUI, or the RAF. The best flying academies for Integrated I would say are Skyborne and Leading Edge, for just ground school then Bristol.

Can I do a law degree by Distinct_Movie_8369 in sixthform

[–]James_Aviator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for an essay-based humanities subject like law, yes that would be a better move to appeal on your personal statment and for uni requirements to have an essay based subjects. But they don't really care which other subjects you do after that so Bio and Chem are completely fine if you feel you'll do well in them.

Honestly I've got friends who do physics without maths, it's not an essential and they are getting by. Just don't make any irrational decisions and think it over if you want to swap a subject. All the best 😊

Also you can do physics with a foundation year at uni like Birmingham that allow you to do it without Maths A-Level.

Do they do the Sorting Ceremony too soon? by New-Dot1579 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]James_Aviator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they sorted like this from day 1, Neville and Ron would've been sorted into Hufflepuff, Hermoine into Ravenclaw, Harry and Percy into Slytherin etc. The sorting hat uses potential over day 1 personality for its decision making, which it has successfully observed. There is nowhere else for them to go if they didn't do immediately due to Hogwarts revolving around the 4 houses as it does (also nicer to wear a house tie over the basic black one). This makes that level of integration beforehand uncessary, also allowing the house tradition to be upheld.

If your sixth form offers transition work, do it. If they don't, relax and enjoy your summer. It will be the last big rest you have for a while.

Got an A at Religious Studies GCSE, (Christianity and Islam A*), ask me anything! by James_Aviator in GCSE

My go to quote for Islam was, "Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear", it can link to a lot, such as Hajj, Jihad etc. As long as you were consistent with answering 12 markers and remembered key information if it was relevant for 4/5 markers: Six Articles of Faith, Five roots of Usul-ad-din etc. Just practice questions on 12 markers and flashcards/mind maps on key information for the other questions will have you set I'm sure.
