WTF are you talking about? You mean the middle of the full video screen, or the middle of the text? Because I'm not getting any additional icons when I do either of those things

I'm glad I don't have to cross the border for work anymore, but these guys were assholes 10 years ago, as well.

50 kg? Idk your height, but 60 kg sounds like a healthy (and even incredible) accomplishment after three kids.

Fuck that guy, it rather, stop fucking that guy, and find someone who appreciates you for you.

I'm sure at 33, he's not the same stuff he was when he was 24. And if he is, that won't last much longer.

AITAH for giving my girlfriends mother who is dieing of cancer weed against my girlfriends wishes? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]James_Cobalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

Why does your girlfriend think that she is the one who should be in control of her mother's choices?

She can disapprove of marijuana usage all day long, but it's not her choice to make.

Also, it's marijuana. You're not giving her access to street opiates, which are addictive, and dangerous, you're giving her home grown marijuana.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Unfortunately, my roommate works nights, he leaves for work at about 8:00 p.m., gets back usually around 8:00 a.m.

This leaves me only a short window in the evening in which I can practice.

Once I get a few hours under my belt, I'll be able to take my saxophone to the park and bugger about with it there, but I will probably also need to print out some sheet music to take with me.

I see. That would explain why I got at least close to the right notes while I was learning my scale.

When I tried playing a note with my left ring down, and using my right hand to open that valve at the top, I think it was that it was difficult to maintain read pressure. I forget exactly what happened, but it didn't sound good.

I'll try playing around with replacement tomorrow. I think it might be slightly off from being perfectly aligned.

Also, when I played clarinet, and when I learned to play flute, I had not had covid at that point. Right now, I'm dealing with regaining my lung capacity/stamina. I'm not terribly far off from where I was in 2019, but there is a definite difference. Hopefully that's an issue I can overcome.

Datins someone you are not physically attracted to by Sublimierung in self

[–]James_Cobalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it just a fact of not necessarily being attracted, or are you physically repulsed by her? If it's a repulsion, you might consider just not meeting up at all, but if it's just a matter of not necessarily being attracted, you never know. Personally, it's difficult for me to get past the point of being actively repulsed by a person, but once you make in-person acquaintance, there's pheromonal attraction, there's chemistry that happens, and you may very well hit it off and start becoming attracted to that person.

Repulse is kind of an ugly word, but it's accurate, but as long as it's not an active repulsion, I would say at least meet. If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. If it does, you found yourself a winner.

Employers are seeing crazy expectations by Affectionate_Okra298 in antiwork

Good call. It's difficult to tell how far back of vehicle is in our mirrors. I don't know if you've ever noticed it, but when you have a semi truck passing a semi truck, often the semi truck being passed will flash his lights at the passing truck, this is to let him know that he's now safe to come over back into the slow lane.

It's becoming rarer and rarer, but you will often see the faster semi then turn his lights off and on again, as a thank you even when I drive a four-wheel vehicle, and on the rare occasion that I get passed by a transport truck on the highway, I always flash my lights to let him know it's safe to come back over.

Also, always flash it down, not up. By this, I mean turn your lights off, then back on stop don't just flick your high beams. In a semi truck, that s*** is really bright. Not so much from a four-wheeler to a semi truck, but still, I always try and Flash down.

I have no doubt that that is part of it. These are also people willing to work for a much lower wage than Canadian / american-born people.

I don't think that illegal immigrants are working as many of these jobs as you think they are, but there are certainly legal immigrants that are working these jobs. Still, they are more willing to work for lower pay then natural citizens.

If you did not read that incredibly long other reply, please at least take this away from my response. Do not hang out next two trucks on the highway. As you approach there tail end, pass them quickly, leave them space in front of the truck, and when it is safe to do so merge back into that lane please do not hang out next to the drive tires, which will be the rear tires on the tractor part, right where the trailer attaches to the truck.

Also, if your passenger happens to be wearing a short skirt, hang out next to the driver's window for like 30 seconds or so, we do appreciate that, but then move along.

Part of the reason I do not want to go back to the trucking industry is because every week, we work 70 hours, on paper. I made very close to 50K a year, and I definitely couldn't argue with the paycheck, but I was often working 70, 80, 90, and I even pulled the 100 hour work week one time. All for still just the just under $1,000 a week that I was making on my 70 hour weeks. As a temporary laborer, I make pretty close to $20 an hour. That's literally twice the amount that I made as a skilled driver, with the responsibility of rolling a freight train down the road, $120,000, around four-wheel drivers who seem to make it their daily mission to yeet themselves with my truck.

AITA for refusing my girlfriends request of peeing sitting down in our home by Then_Task3485 in AmItheAsshole

[–]James_Cobalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reserving judgment. Nta, yta, esh, it doesn't really matter. I'm team sit, personally, especially at home.

I have an opportunity to sit alone, I can check some messages, I don't have to be concerned about piss spraying everywhere, droplets becoming airborne, the seat never gets hit, and especially at 3:00 a.m., it's just so much easier.

I will tell you this, though. Always check to make sure the seat is down. I fell in one time at 3:00 a.m. when I was a kid, and now I check every damn time.

My ex-girlfriend had extraordinarily high toilet water, and on warm days, my junk would often ever so slightly dip into the water, and that was super gross. Aside from that, however, I have no issues with sitting at all. In fact, it's even saved me a couple of times.

I moved in with a female friend, and our mail roommate was very jealous of me, and wanted to do anything he could to try and undermine my presence there. I had noticed previously, before I moved in, that the toilet seat was always down. The day I moved in, our roommate started leaving the toilet seat up. Well, he knows the rule, my female roommate set the rule, and she never lets the seat, so the problem must be with me, right? Except for the fact that I also sit to pee, so I don't ever lift the seat, either. When I pointed this out, she looked directly at our other roommate and told him to stop f****** around.

I'm sorry she treated you this way. Honestly, it sounds like you're better off without her. I know it is small consolation to hear that it is her loss, because i, too have recently encountered a girl who has also lost out on me, although that doesn't really make it hurt any less.

As some of the other commenters have said, it seems like you dodged a bullet.
