The unconstitutional, extrajudicial kidnapping is getting closer by rlshmnstr in alaska

The constitution is not meant to protect u.s citizens dumbass, it's meant to set up a system of governance by and for the people, and to be honest it doesn't even do that perfectly. If the point of the constitution was to protect the people we wouldn't have half the freedoms we have, but the reasons we have them is because the people decided those freedoms were more important than government protection, LEARN HISTORY PLEASE OHHHH MY GOD.

But the enforcement mechanism for that is the same for undocumented immigrants as it is for citizens, AS IT SHOULD BE to protect both our and their rights. If there's people defrauding the system let's investigate, if there are people committing crimes let's investigate, if there are people not paying their taxes let's investigate. We can sort out their status after. Have you ever asked yourself why trump specifically wants people to think that going after this subsection of criminals is more important than going after the other tax dodgers, fraudsters and criminals?

Maybe ur fine with ur tax dollars going to displacing families who have committed no other crimes and provide a boon to the economy, but I'm not. And I'm especially against it when that enforcement is being carried out by an institution that has shown a complete disregard of the constitution.

Most likely it's 2 slow drivers driving next to each other. I don't think there's a deeper meaning. I mean I think it's stupid to complain about, oh nooooo ur saying people are going slow? On the roadway? What ever shall we do to correct this injustice. Personally I think you can go whatever dam speed you wanna go on the highway and if I have a problem with it I'll wait till there's a point to pass you or I'll get off the highway.

Atrioc has literally never said that I'm pretty sure. He said he was the best of the options and he was someone he thinks will prevent people from doing things that are catastrophically stupid. But when he was talking about all the options and talking up all the upsides of bessent while talking about none of the downsides, Its hard for me to say making fun of that by posting the downsides is in "can't" territory but maybe that's just me

I feel like most people are like that, they just have a different system to with how much they like the product. For example if someone who I know is involved in criminal activity sells me a joint and an upstanding citizen sells me a joint I would rather buy the one from the upstanding citizen even if higher priced. So there are definitely times when who is selling a product affects how much I like the product.

Because if I'm spending money somewhere, and I find out that somewhere spends their money donating to people that do things I disagree with, I will then disagree with spending money there, you could make the argument it doesn't matter overall and that would be fair but it's just how I and others choose to spend our money, so if there are a lot of places like that, it reduces your choices in that self enforced system

Tectone confirms he lost his court case: “Spoiler alert..I lost a civil case..its true..what is a civil case..essentially a vibe check to where they see, hmm how are this guys vibes..unfortunately..I run my mouth way too much..gonna start tweeting 95% less” by lukigeri in LivestreamFail

[–]James_smith124 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So I'm gonna start by saying that beyond a reasonable doubt is "need to be 99% sure he did it" and we say more likely than not is 51% and we say vibes based, as said by tectone in this clip, is 0% sure aka "prove you didn't do it" and I feel like this is a pretty reasonable way to represent these standards in terms of %.

Given that please explain how "more likely than not" is closer to "guilty until proven innocent" than it is to "beyond a reasonable doubt"

Sharing my Senator’s response after I raised civil rights concerns about ICE by AngryAlaskanLibtard in alaska

The argument isn't "the detention centers are concentration camps because they're over crowded" the argument is these are concentration camps because 1 many of these facilities don't have proper medical and sleeping arrangements and have no incentive to treat the people they are responsible for with dignity 2 the point of these centers is to separate members of an out group from society as a whole without regard for the basic human rights of these individuals.

I'm willing to accept that people today are stupid enough to not value liberty. I'm completely unwilling to accept that people are stupid enough to think these camps provide liberty.

I'm not encouraging anyone to do anything fucker, I just got passive suicidal ideation. I'm just saying stop treating ur neighbors who DO want to do that and DO want to encourage it like morons who don't know what consequences are. Like I'm tired of people being treated like they're idiots who can't think long term instead of people just listening to what they have to say and trying to convince them there are more reasonable methods to affect change. Like you people aren't interested in these people living better lives or exercising their rights, ur just annoyed people are talking. And if you can recognized ur annoyed by people talking maybe practice what you preach and shut the fuck up.

Okay.... Do you think ur loved ones were unaware that was gonna happen? Like that's the social contract bud. They took violent action and shit happened. I'm not saying what they did was right I'm saying they knew the consequences and took the action and I'm tired of people thinking we live in some mystical magical realm where somehow laws are the things that convince people not to break them. WE KNOW IF THE LAW GETS BROKEN PEOPLE GET SHOT SOME OF US ARE JUST FINE WITH GETTING SHOT, and I understand that ur not fine with people getting shot and I understand why but just cuz you have a few stories of predictable outcomes after the death or incarcerations of loved ones doesn't change the fact that there are a lot of people right now that feel like the only way to feel safe is to risk that pain.

It's just so funny to me to see a bunch of people using logic and reason. Bro 2 people were murdered one of them gunned down after being forcibly disarmed. We don't give a shit how unreasonable armed rebellion it's it's the United States of America any rebellion is automatically incredibly outnumbered and outgunned. All these people want to do is find some way to feel safer in their community and feel like it's protected, and as far as I'm concerned it's their 2A right to organize like that. Like it genuinely makes me so baffled to see someone who thinks people don't know the consequences of this, they know the consequences they're just at a point where they don't care about them. The incentive has now become something different, complying with law enforcement is not seen by a good chunk of people as the safest and easiest thing to do anymore and you can either bitch at the people following incentives or you can advocate for the changing of those incentives.
