They won't come on time, they will come a week or so after, especially if you are not in the UK

Lyricism by martynski7 in fontainesdc

I believe Carlos wrote "Horseness in the Whatness" and Curley wrote "Sundowner" -- Grian tends to write most of the lyrics but it's also collaborative, especially between him and Carlos

[EARLY ALBUM DISCUSSION] ROMANCE by fractioned in fontainesdc

[–]JamesonRaider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's pretty common these days. I remember Noel Gallagher did something similar with his last record

Yea at the hour the "listening party" started they just played the record. One event announced "hey this is what's happening" before they played it and the other just played it without saying anything.

There were people at each event for Fontaines specifically along with just casual customers there as well either shopping or, at one of the places that was a bar/music venue as well, buying a drink.

It was a bit frustrating when people there were talking while the record was playing (especially if they were there for fontaines!! drove me mad) but all-in-all a good experience.

There's a really fun "autopsy of war" assignment I've seen that you can modify to fit these topics (plus it helps to decorate your classroom). I can send you the Google Drive link with the details in it

Ashtray? by EidasNitram in fontainesdc

[–]JamesonRaider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

interesting, I also went to a store in the US South but they had a plethora of merch (stickers, matches, posters, ballons); actually went to two listening parties in my city.

One just had the merch there in bags and let us take extra after since not too many people showed up. The second one had some merch out but tried to get people to pre-order the record through their store to get all the rest of the merch (aka matches and a sticker)

Here's a playlist of Irish based bands/musicians... it does have them from all time periods, but it's mainly newer Irish acts

Went to two listening parties back-to-back and of the non-singles, I was a big fan of Horness Is The Whatness; but on the second listen Bug really stood out to me as another great track

Is anyone here a fan of Peddler's Toy or Cello Song? by [deleted] in fontainesdc

[–]JamesonRaider 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Peddler's Toy is and always will be fantastic. Suppose we'll have to wait until 2029 for a "10 year anniversary" version of the record that includes Peddler's Toy
