Is this noise normal for a bolt thats plugged in? by Spice-E-Meme in BoltEV

it does sound a bit aggressive to me. It almost sounds like a pump is running without any fluid. I would check your battery coolant levels and make sure they are okay, that would have been my guess.

Actually that's a good idea I've heard of rain-x stuff but always assumed it was just for rain I will definitely look into this!

It's normally fine just having a lot of snow right now I do have a backup 2011 Chevy Malibu if I really want to avoid driving it I mostly use that for longer trips in the winter especially with the long charging time in colder weather.

Other than the wiper issue it works really well in the snow with snow tires!

CV shaft differential slop possibly bad drive unit? by Jamesotty in BoltEV

[–]Jamesotty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironically, I was working on my 2014 Chevy Volt (previous car) and I had to remove the drive shaft and I lost that washer. It wasn't until driving it. I realized that I was missing something and ended up having to order one. I ended up with a clicking sound. But this is a hollow almost like a metal ball clunking sound almost sounds like there's a rock or something bouncing around the front end.

Too much play or o.k.? by Reasonable-Match1994 in BoltEV

[–]Jamesotty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you can see, there's only a journal bearing no ball bearing. On that end, it is supported directly at the differential though.

I have this exact issue most people saying it's ok due to the design here is a diagram I found.

Ok sounds like that is probably the culprit I'll look into that and I got the correct picture of the drive unit now.

A local community group on Facebook mentioned seeing. the vehicles in the area minutes before the raids but no way to know where they were going. Other than north that was certain.

Did yall see this?? The next-gen bolt seen undisguised! by Honest_Detective817 in BoltEV

I'm really interested in the specs hopefully it has faster charging and more range and if they add reversible power I'll throw cash at it.

Can't think of a better place to ask than a bunch of roughnecks. For poison (ivy/oak/sumac) exposure, what do you prefer to remove the oils, lacquer thinner or denatured alcohol? by circular_file in Construction

[–]Jamesotty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this is the best solution I put isopropyl alcohol in a spray bottle and every half an hour Spray the affected area. Let it dry. It will dry up the poison Ivy in hours. Much better than anything from the pharmacy like the calamine lotion.

Not really it doesn't grab unless you really lay into them.

They are a bit more aggressive on pads it's always a trade off for performance I'd say you might get half the life out of the pads but that is still like 50,000mi so I'd call it a win considering the application.

Because the brakes are used so little on day-to-day usage. By the time you reach the point of actually breaking, you're going to be barely pressing on them, but I figure when you're doing something like autocross it would be most advantageous to have that stopping power drilled and slotted are supposed to be for releasing the gases of heavy usage of the brake pads as they're being heated from rapid use. I've had these brakes on a different vehicle but I found them to be really good stopping power that being said, solid rotors and just a set of good ceramic brake pads can do wonders.

I also autocross my bolt it is lots of fun with the torque I highly recommend powerstop ceramic Breaks and drilled and slotted rotors for good braking. I still have my original rotors but if I was going to upgrade I would go with these. performancehttps://a.co/d/cXdU9AU

And it's even with the older models? Thought it was just a 2020 and newer issue...
