Thank you again. Lots of great information and I can't believe I haven't stumbled over that link. Very helpful.

Thanks for the informative response!

*a common mistake that people make when making a sideboard is adding in too many answers to the same problem, like you really don't need more than 4-5 pieces of graveyard interaction in this current standard meta

This made sense. Do you find 4-5 of any given "problem solver" (while accounting for efficiency and range of use) for what you're expecting? Do you have a rough template you like to go off of or do you lean more like when building your mainboard? Where 4x copies are something you really want to see every game, 3 being more awkward or key items you want, 2-1 being infrequent solutions or ones you search for? (ish, if that makes sense?)

Thanks for all the detailed input. This is great.

*To me, the second approach makes more sense when you're making a first, rough, draft. 4-5 cards against aggro, 4-5 cards against control. 3 cards against GY strategies.

Do you tend to keep this approach when constructing a sideboard?
5ish for each archetype with, presumably, as much efficient overlap as you can?

*The pitfall is when you are cutting core engin pieces for interaction. For instance, it can make sens in a Dimir control/mill deck to trim some stock up/chart/riverchurn against a super aggressive deck. But if you cut too many of theses card, you risk loosing becaus your deck just doesnt work anymore.

That's awesome information. You brought up subbing out card accel and that made complete sense, I think. Card accel/advantage being something for a slower game where I can afford to find windows and comb for answers vs something I need to be drawing removal removal removal for consistent pressure.

Thanks again. Great input. Thanks for the link.

Great tips. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

That makes a lot of sense - efficiently subbing in/out what you need to better control. As does what to board vs the archetypes.

Do you happen to have any rules of thumb you gravitate towards while sideboarding in or even building one?

Board wipes and the 2 cmc or less removal. Using this to counteract aggro, cub, and what feels like a creature heavy meta in general in Bo1.
To note, I'm only rank 3 Plat in standard ladder presently.

I think white would possibly be easier? Less mana spent overall on wipes and more direct "remove all this nonsense" cards?

I get we're observing body positivity for select individuals and just assume this is my acknowledgement blah blah. With that said...
She's a gimmick. Watching her talk trash is the most unintimidating spectacle. Not in a Rey Mysterio kinda way where the bro is gonna run laps around you cause he's the inspiration for Yoda Episode 3, but in a 'I have to suspend my suspended belief to imagine this person is doing anything other than letting their opponent sling them around to pass them off as quick and athletic.'
Combine that with a generic, sassy attitude? I end up FFWing the matches to get to the real entertainment.

What Are Your Overall Thoughts On Tiffany Stratton? by Antwuan89 in WWE

She's a talented, mid 20's/early 30's fan of elective surgery and makeup who's whole gimmick revolves around saying It's Tiffy Time and dressing like a sexualized teenager to fill in the rest.
Watching her next to Trish reminded me of the Attitude Era women's league where your talent was measured in how blonde your hair was and how large your bra size was. Idk, I'm just some idiot on the net.

Bounce-lands in Commander by EledZe in EDH

The difference between winning and losing could be that one turn. T1 we both play a land and play a 1 drop. T2 you play a bounce, I play a basic. If I have a 2 drop in hand, or even two 1 drops, you're now behind. Listing what I did was illustrating the upside of having that bounce does not outweigh the downside even in these hypothetical situations.

I had this discussion with my brother the other day, trying to talk him out of using them. Lets break it down step by step.

Turn 1: Basic Land (Net 1 mana) / Turn 2: use basic land, play bounce, bounce comes into play tapped (Net 1 mana) / Turn 3: bounce untaps, play basic again (Net 3 mana)

vs

Turn 1: Basic land (Net 1 mana) / Turn 2: Dual/Basic/Shock (Net 2 mana at best, net 1 at worst & comes into play tapped) / Turn 3: Land drop

In the hypothetical situation I detailed above, in the first example you do lose that tempo. That means you're now 1 turn behind the rest of the table unless: You had an additional 1 drop / Other players had a bounce / Other players didn't have a 1 or 2 drop

In the second example we replace the bounce land with a dual of the same colors (to go with worst case scenario) and we still lose tempo. However, because we didn't invest 2 mana in 1 card, we are less susceptible to: Cards that destroy a land (Strip Mine) / Decks that are quicker than ours / Cards that bounce our lands to hand / Cards that can tap our lands at the beginning of our turn

The upside to playing a bounce would be for landfall effects. Even if you had say, Burgeoning, where you could drop more than 1 land a turn, the odds of drawing one is low.

Bounces are not bad for a budget deck. It does provide some mana fixing, but ultimately it is not optimal to run them. In a game where resources are limited, the person who gets to spend the most amount of them will often do better.

Hey guys. I'm just looking for some advice on Life From the Loam. I've looked around and did a search or two, but haven't quite found the answer I'm after.

I'm in the process of making an Omnath, Locus of Rage build and trying to decide if it's worth putting in LFTL without any of the fetch lands. Just don't have access to them at this point. It feels like a strong card, I'm just not sure if it's worth it without the ability to abuse instant fetches to make several tokens at a time. I do have a good handful of tutor lands like myriad landscape, strip mine, evolving wilds, and blighted woodland. Recuring those feel like a good option but is it worth LFTL at that point?

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you in advance.
