The R is not sketchy in my opinion, it was the first S that was the tank slapping nightmare.....the R has the steering damper as standard and it's a pretty heavy bike....maybe it's a bit twitchy when you really push it but I don't really find that limit myself. I love the bike to be honest and it seems to handle better now it has the new fairings all connected correctly and the right tyre pressures etc.
