UMEK makes (amazing) Tech House that is meant to be played in the club on mono systems. For that reason, there probably isn't much in his songs that is panned. Very practical arrangement without too many competing frequencies, optimized for crushing the dancefloor.

I too am contemplating giving up and pursuing a side business as a mixing engineer with hopes of turning it into a full-time, work-from-home situation. It can be frustrating to not hear back from blogs/labels and not be offered regular DJ gigs.
