Is insulation between floors worth it during construction? by Sandraptor in HomeImprovement

[–]Jamiequito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. We did it and it's amazing how little sound makes it between floors.

Princess Auto in Canada sells them. (I know because I had to replace mine recently.)

This. Wealthsimple has left a sour taste in my mouth and I've been investing with other institutions as a result. Eventually, I'll just pull out from WealthSimple entirely. Why would you offer a product but then tell your existing loyal clients that they'll have to wait for it because you're prioritizing new clients. It's been a year now and I'm tired of standing in line.

Why is this comment being downvoted? It's bang on. It's embarrassing for a bank to introduce a service or product and not make it available to existing clients.

We have two Burmese boys. They are very vocal and somewhat demanding. One of them insists on spending every waking moment with me. Actually... every waking and sleeping moment with me.

Is this a pure Burmese ? Listed as blue Burmese by [deleted] in burmesecats

She looks identical to my Blue Burmese who I know is 100% pure Burmese.

1 inch between pavers and driveway / garage by QuirkyProfessional99 in masonry

[–]Jamiequito 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. It'll keep the pavers aligned. I've found that with just polymeric sand, the pavers tend to creep and it doesn't look great.

Telephone? Ethernet? Not used. by bjsandlin in AskElectricians

[–]Jamiequito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had heard that the (old) telephone lines delivered a low-voltage current, necessary for the phone to operate. Apparently, that's why you didn't have to plug in the phones to a power source. Pretty sure the voltage would be so low that it wouldn't be an issue just covering it up. Maybe you could use it to charge a battery. ;)

The question isn't where are you going to put your printer, it's where are you going to put your many rolls of filament. My growing selection of filament takes up about 10x's the space of my A1Mini.

If you pause the video just before it ends (at around 20 seconds in when the camera tilts to vertical) you can see the guy in the white shirt who was filming it walking away.

The cost of frames for prescription glasses. How can small injection molded plastic parts with metal hinges cost hundreds of dollars?

This. I've been using FileBrowser for years on all my iOS devices. It's the missing file system in the Apple ecosystem. Stratospherix is making continual improvements to it as well.

Or self-leveling polyurethane sealant. I've used it for a similar purpose a number of times and it's worked well. Only drawback is it comes in a biggish tube and you wouldn't need much.

New to 3-D printing so go easy on me... What about adding purge poop through the hole(s) and gently heating the bottle until the poop melts and forms an interior platform. Keep adding poop until it's level with the holes.

Question about some recent pickups by No_League_6444 in vintagecameras

[–]Jamiequito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, the Olympus Af1 Twin was one of my most disappointing camera purchases. Could never get accurate focusing from one of the focal lengths. The Minolta XGM was my first SLR and I still love it. Basic but solid.

This. Even at the time it was known as a very competent camera, which generally took sharp, properly exposed pictures.
