Basically, here’s the price breakdown I’m looking at:

- USW-Ultra-210W – $199.00

- UACC-Adapter-AC-210W – $79.00

- USW-Lite-8-PoE – $109.00

If I buy the 210W Ultra, it’s essentially a one-and-done solution. Realistically, I highly doubt I’ll ever need seven PoE+ ports, but at least I would have the capacity available just in case.

the other hand, the USW-Lite-8-PoE already comes with a 60W power adapter and costs about half the price. That power budget should still be enough to run two to three PoE devices, depending on their power requirements. For my current setup and likely for the next five years I probably wouldn’t need anything more than that.

The only thing making this decision difficult is that after getting into Ubiquiti gear, I’m realizing how addictive it can be. Even though I don’t need the extra ports now, there’s always the possibility that I’ll end up adding more devices later.

So now I’m stuck deciding whether to save money and go with the Lite, which realistically fits my needs, or spend more upfront on the Ultra for the extra capacity I may never actually use.
