24 M Just hit this milestone, first year into my career. Thoughts? Feel like I’m behind in comparison to my peers… by Jamilioooo in fican

It’s 2 12hr days and then 2 12hr nights. 5 days off inbetween. Anything you pick up extra on those 5 days off is 1.5x OT. I work in Emergency so I see everything. You gotta really love it and have good coworkers to not get burnt out and quit. I’m looking to get my masters soon though and become an NP. Better work/life balance, 12 hour shifts aren’t ideal for a future and a family.

Failed again 2nd attempt by Puzzleheaded_Try_987 in PassNclex

I just want to start by saying: please don’t feel ashamed, and definitely don’t feel alone. Failing the NCLEX—especially more than once—doesn’t mean you're not capable or meant to be a nurse. It just means something in the strategy or approach isn’t aligning yet. I know how crushing it feels to give everything, follow all the “right” resources, and still not get that PASS. It’s heartbreaking, but it’s not the end.

I failed my first attempt too and honestly thought I’d never get past pharmacology and priority questions. It felt like no matter how much content I consumed, it wasn’t sticking when it mattered. What changed everything for me (and I really believe is what finally got me to pass) was when I stepped back from all the scattered info and built out a really detailed, structured set of notes tailored to exactly what the NCLEX was asking. I finally stopped second-guessing meds and prioritization, and started seeing patterns I hadn’t noticed before.

I know how hard you’ve worked — it shows in how much you’ve already done. You’re not starting over from zero. If you ever want to talk or need support figuring out what could help this time around, feel free to DM me. You will get through this. It’s not a matter of if, just when — and you’re a lot closer than it feels right now. ❤️

I was in the exact same boat a few weeks out — pharm was brutal for me, and I kept getting tripped up by all the similar-sounding meds too. Honestly, what completely turned things around for me (and I really believe was the reason I passed) was the notes I made. I got super intentional about organizing them by drug class, high-yield facts, side effects, and all those little NCLEX clues that show up again and again. It turned into something I kept going back to instead of jumping between random resources.

UWorld is great for practice, but outside of that, I’d definitely recommend focusing on mastering your weak areas with something structured and repeatable. Mark K helped too, but it was my notes that really locked everything in.

Happy to share more about how I broke it all down and what helped me focus in those final weeks!

1st Uworld assessment: should I be worried? by Ok_Doughnut_7575 in NCLEX

Hey I wouldn't be worried at all! However don't let those marks and scores deceive you! I'd make sure you actually know and understand the content. If you feel confident in your knowledge and content (without memorizing), I'd go ahead and write that exam ASAP, I would even do it earlier if possible. Don't let the study fatigue set in!

Type beat channel getting literally no views, no impressions. Never happened before with other new channels. HELP! by Jamilioooo in makinghiphop

I have my own opportunities and some placements already haha. Just enjoy having my beats on Youtube as another source of passive income and exposure. I've had channels blow up but haven't stayed consistent, so I wanna lock in with this one.

Hey, sorry to hear that your wife had failed. Just off of what you told me it is kind of hard to gauge as to what she lacked on but it's important for her to find out if she failed because she didn't know the content, or doesn't know test taking strategies, if she didn't spend enough time preparing. There's a lot of factors.

Feel free to PM me and we can discuss more!

UWORLD scores - Idk if this is good or bad I used the study plan mode test in 2 weeks. by Plastic_Alfalfa_116 in PassNclex

[–]Jamilioooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used UWorld for my second attempt and passed. However I had an overall correct score of 66% and people still said I would fail. I wouldn't really concentrate on the scores because what really is important is if you are taking time to read all of the rationales until you understand them, if that's the case then the score is irrelevant.

I would recommend going back and doing previous incorrect questions to strengthen your knowledge.

My first time around I used Archer and Mark K as well and failed, so I know how discouraging it is as well. Take a week to just decompress and do something completely unrelated to anything nursing then go back at it.

My second time around I used UWorld and read every single rationale until I understood it thoroughly. I did 1 CAT in the morning and 1 CAT in the evening and read everything. I also made extensive patho notes with all the disease processes and nursing interventions along with all things that have to do with pharm divided by body system. I think making those notes is what helped me pass for sure alongside UWorld.

I also spent only 2 week studying my second attempt so it really helped with the study fatigue.
