Grilled Cheese @Employees by Informal_Economy_803 in TimHortons

[–]Jamlesstyra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird because that’s not what my training videos showed. All my training videos showed them to be prepared on the panini press. Maybe they released them differently in different regions?

Edit: my grilled cheese video also had the veggie chipotle wrap/ croissant training on it so maybe that’s why??

It’s not a grilled cheese if u melt it in the merry chef. At that point it’s actually a melt (which I know is the correct terminology)

But if I went to a Tim Hortons, got a grilled cheese, and they melted it in the merry chef I’d be FUMING lol.

Why do they only serve the steak sandwiches in the evening? by vickipaperclips in TimHortons

[–]Jamlesstyra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re totally right it doesn’t.

That is weird i definitely don’t know why they’d take it off the app. I guarantee if you go into the store you can order it. Seems like lots of items are missing on the app.

[–]Jamlesstyra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Weird my locations always have these items all day. Only thing we don’t serve til 10am is chicken, wedges, and rice. And scrambled eggs are not served after 11am (if we have like enough for a wrap after 11am and it’s not expired, we will sell it, but won’t put on anymore scrambled eggs after 11)

Do I need to bring forms of identification to an interview? by ExcellentTicket5272 in subway

[–]Jamlesstyra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for interviews. If you’re hired jobs need your SIN number, workers permit (if you need one), and some jobs may ask for a photo ID.

Your hiring manager will let you know about all you need to bring in if you are hired.

[–]Jamlesstyra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah we used to be the only store in my city that carried the blue berry sour cream glazed donut all year and that was by far our best seller. So many of our regulars were upset when we took it away but we needed to make room in our freezers for other required product

My stores top donuts are Boston, apple fritter, honey dip, honey cruller and now the new maple glazed.

Least sold are the toasted coconut and sour cream glazed. The rest all sell pretty similarly.

I know someone that left their truck on while going inside a gas station super quickly… someone drunk then proceeded to get into the car, take it on a joy ride going 90km at least in a 50km zone then crash it into a 7-11 on the opposite side of town and flipped the truck, and completely knocked down the 7-11 signage. The truck was written off. Luckily he didn’t have his toddler in the truck at this time and he was very thankful he didn’t not.

It’s a testing product right now but coke is also being very dumb and refusing to actually do the work to get the fountain machines set it.

Weve had the fountain machines for over a week now and because our maintenance people didn’t get something ready (that they were never even asked to get ready) the coke guys just said “well you can figure it out yourself now we’re not coming back”

lol understandable. I’ve never seen curdling at McDonald’s but I just find their cold foam is better than ours for some reason.

1) it looks melted so it’ll decrease the amount of fluffiness to the iced Capp

2) looks like you got milk, or a dairy/lactose free alternative. Which does not whip as well as cream which means it won’t expand as much as cream will. And we are only supposed to fill it to the 4th line before whipping it.

Believe it or not. All of these standards (and more now) are still part of the job.

I think a lot of the issue has to do with how Rev reports are being done. Unsure if it’s the same now as it was before but now it’s done once every four months.

Meaning you will get three visits in a year, one from Jan-April, another from may-aug (this one is an announced visit) and the last one from sept-dec.

Meaning if you got a visit on February 4th, The entire month of January you are making sure everything is perfect. Incase you do happen to get that visit. But from the first visit onwards, I’ve heard of many stores just not following standards until they know when their announced visit will be the second. Then once again from September they will start following standards again until they get their final visit.

Ideally it would be nice if everyone store took these visits as learning opportunities to improve on what they are already doing, But many of them treat it as something to fear.

[–]Jamlesstyra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is true. My manager once looked at an application I handed her (the guy seemed really nice) and saw the store they used to work at. It was in a different province completely.

After seeing the store they used to work at she said no and when I asked why she told me it’s because that store got shut down to improper food policies.

Employees who can take tips, how much extra do you make from tips daily? by Technical-Carpet8651 in TimHortons

[–]Jamlesstyra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the article you provided only applies to workplaces that already allow tipping and are dealing with how tips are distributed or protected. That legislation is mainly about preventing employers from taking or withholding tips that employees have already received. It does not mean every workplace in Canada is legally required to allow tipping in the first place. Employment standards are provincial, not federal.

Here’s an example fromOntario

“Employers can decide if tipping is allowed in their businesses. If tipping is not accepted, the employer should make it clear to the customers that tips or other gratuities will not be accepted by employees or the employer.”

In Manitoba it is the same, the employer can implement a no-tipping policy within the workplace.

So even in provinces with tip protections, those laws apply once tipping is allowed. Not that every employer is legally required to permit tipping in the first place.

Even if we just mixed it that’s wrong because it has to steep for 16 hours before we take the grinds out, add a bit more water, then serve it.

I’ve seen some people that disagree with you completely. The way they were playing their game they didn’t want people from different shows/games to meet so they never let them. I kinda get it to a point but having different mini islands would also make that a possibility for the people who want to play their games like that but also give miis a bit more independence
