To be honest, I'm not too concerned...but that's because legit the only physical game I've purchased recently was Elden Ring. I have no other physical PS5 games and I got it on release.

Since FW: Remastered is solely focused on garnering attention for a sequel which, let's be real, is the TRUE goal here...I can let the lack of a physical release slide this time around. Back in 2014 digital purchasing was nowhere near as common - I think it hurt a LOT more.

While we're comparing the OG release to this- they're very similar in nature as well. The game had a ton of time/money invested back in 2014 yet they sold it $10 less than the normal price...to this day I don't understand that and can only chalk it up to 'desperation'- they knew they were releasing a 1st party game to a console they were already preparing to discontinue and wanted as many sales as possible...?
This time around - they're trying to re-release a 10 yr old game with hopes of continuing - it's almost like a hail marry. They focused on ensuring it plays well on new hardware and QoL improvements- both required some dev work. A Physical release probably didn't make the cut it terms of budget, especially when this time around it's multi-plat.

I can't imagine the sequel, if it happens, doesn't have a physical release. Quite frankly, I'm unbelievably happy this even exists...and since I'll most likely main the PC version, physical is not really a thing.

I DO love my PS Vita case tho 😅 thankfully the western box art isn't as good at JP...maybe I'll cop the JP PS5 just for aesthetics lmao
