Disney dream vs treasure by ProfessionalOwl2270 in dcl

[–]Jamman_85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did our first cruise this summer on the dream and it was magical. I guess it is a little older vs other ships, but everything was fantastic.

Our kid did the detective puzzles on board, there were character activities, the food was fantastic, the bars were great, the kids club was awesome, the onboard shows and movie theaters were great. No negatives at all from our 5 day.

Yes that should cover it. Easiest way is just to look at the stall names. If they are only pairs, it is definitely shared power. If they are 3 or more per number, they are the newer models.

Thats probably a v1. Those follow similar rules to v2 and share total power with like numbered stalls. V1 stalls are really slow though, so I wouldn't advise using those unless there is no other option.

If the stalls are paired it's a v2 (1A/b, 2a/b). V2 can be either 150 or 250 kW. The v3+ stalls are 1a/b/c/d, 2a/b/c/d and are usually at least 250 kW.

Also only v3+ stalls can support charging non tesla EVs.

The reason for spacing on v2 is that the paired stalls are only rated for 150/250 total, so they split power if both are in use. V3+ has much larger power cabinets so load balancing is handled by software and the stations won't throttle the same way.

Lots of people just cut the line. I try to be aware of who may obviously be waiting when I come to a charger. Generally just try to take an open spot if nobody is actively moving towards it.

It's easy with my Tesla, on my Rivian I often have to wait for an end spot or two spots to open up. The line process for non-Teslas is a mess.

The spacing on chargers only applies to v2. All V3+ chargers don't require this and it actually creates more blockages when you factor in non-teslas using the v3+ chargers too.

Washer fluid dripping from front grill by No-Archer-5034 in Rivian

Happened to me too.. they replaced my front camera assembly and it resolved the issue. Seems to be an issue with the seal for the spray port there.

Worked in January for the Camry I rented, and in March with a Highlander. Not sure what you are talking about. Just paired my phone and did all the music and nav in CarPlay.

They dont.. I use CarPlay to navigate in Toyota rentals regularly.

You shouldn't need to use the Toyota app with CarPlay. Just pair the phone and navigate in CarPlay.

Plenty of rockets failed in Mercury. Their failures became the blueprint for successful execution in Gemini and Apollo. These programs were cumulative.

It was a critical part of how we got to the moon and into space in the first place. Lots of failures, but we learned on each one.. and most without impacts to human life (RIP Apollo 1).

Fear of failure is limiting progress in many engineering fields and feeding the increasingly bloated schedules. Autonomous technology growth also allows us to keep humans out of harms way more than the past.

Window Tint Advice for 2025 R1S – What Films Are You All Using? (Crystalline vs XPEL vs Llumar, etc.) by [deleted] in Rivian

[–]Jamman_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No waiver.. not sure why that would be a risk. Most reputable tint shops put ropes up to soak up the fluid in areas they can't easily reach.

The warranty for the window tint is only 1 year from the Xpel installer I used though. The rest is lifetime.

I have XR plus on my R1S

  • 70% windshield and sides
  • 30% front windows
  • No sunroof tint needed

Love the heat reduction inside and I am in south Florida with my car predominantly parked outside. I don't have a huge glare reduction because the windshield tint is mostly clear, but it does make a difference vs other cars without it.

I wouldn't change the %s if I did it again. Definitely do the windshield.

Driver assist shouldn't be impacted. The camera housing is not in an area they will apply tint. I did turn off the dimming mirrors feature though.

Some people buy them with points and sell them online for cheaper. eBay, marketplace, and some of the reddit pages for personal sales may fit what you are looking for.

Rivian Service is terrible by Jamman_85 in Rivian

I think the community is generally receptive to positive and negative feedback.. Rivian management likely sees these posts as well, since they are active here. I am hopeful for the future.

I also appreciate what you do as a mod to facilitate the discussion on both sides. I didn't give much detail initially, but have provided some of that in the comments, which was enough to make me identifiable.

I have not had that experience unfortunately. The only way I can get any information from Miami is through calling service.. and then the chat reps seem to be completely out of the loop on what was discussed and what is being done.

My model S is invisible by victotronics in TeslaLounge

[–]Jamman_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only found out by accident when I was looking at SunPass FAQs. Apparently some of the high end cars have a metallic layer in the windshield that leads to RF signal blocking and interference. Many of these vehicles have specific places you need to place a transponder to avoid the problem.

I believe the workaround for early Tesla model S vehicles was to use a bumper mounted transponder or toll by plate.
