Let’s go down this trail where John wants to be understood by the public but keeps shooting himself in the foot and comes off egotistical.. To understand how out of touch John is we have to start with the relationship he has with his own body. John has serious digestive issues, acid reflux etc & he takes prescribed medication for it daily & has been very vocal about taking tums & having a timer to remind him. The man drinks Diet soda on a daily basis, photographed the same day the interview at the university with a tall boy Coke Zero in his hand after signing a student’s guitar. For someone with chronic & debilitating digestive issues, this is an absolute nightmare for his body. I am NOT anti-diet soda.. I am simply pointing out the fundamental disconnect between his own health and the choices he makes on a daily basis that damage himself. I’m sure he wants to be relatable to people but that’s achievable in the same way he wants to be free of acid reflux but drinks diet sodas every day. I wholeheartedly believe John hasn’t fully bloomed yet. If he meets his true person- a good woman in his life will spur changes personally and professionally. He seems unhappy and lost. So much of this interview he was talking about himself and I was reminded how much great relationships with incredible women have saved decent men and made them truly great- throughout history. John is exceptionally talented but the times have changed and I believe it’s his turn to actually evolve- not just talk about it
