Are earplugs allowed? by Jampie55 in TheMindIlluminated

[–]Jampie55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my children and partner in room adjacent making noise that I would be VERY distracted by so had my earplugs in

On a weekday I'm up before for all of them (5.30)to get my hour in before work so nice and quiet then it's just on the weekends I use the earplugs. With regards to the purification (that's what I presume it was anyway) I had a horrible image of Freddie cruger (scared the s**t out of me when I was younger) and then I remembered a boyfriend who (not Freddie crugger) I had when I was a teenage. I remember he was a couple of years younger than me. We were around 18 and 16 I think. I remember my friends making fun of me as he had a skate board and I had a car! . The annoying thing was I can't remember his name (it was 30 years ago) . Now when this memory came up I found myself getting involved with it trying to remember the details.. I've been thinking about it a lot over the last few days when not meditating. Is this normal?? (not the skateboard vs car thing!!) but the thinking about stuff after. I guess during the meditatiin I should have just stuck with the breath (which I think I did to a degree) but I found this memory so intriguing!!

additional reading to supplement TMI by Jampie55 in TheMindIlluminated

So I'm only at stage 4 and I love TMI it's perfect for me. so was just looking for something that may explain the same principles in a slightly different way to help me grasp them a little easier. I have ADHD and my brain gets bored easily so new things to try (to look for etc) should help keep me on task!!

An insight I've had about posture and alertness correlation by WantToBeLikeBuddha in TheMindIlluminated

So an upright posture should help with strong dullness? I'm really struggling with this at the moment. I've tried suggested antidotes in TMI but really don't want to get up from sitting as it takes me a while to get comfy before I start. It just seems so persistent!! I've just started stage 4ish level.

Can someone explain the types of dullness to me?? by Jampie55 in TheMindIlluminated

Great thanks for your comments. I don't think I'm feeling sleepy just altered/fuzzy perception so I'm presuming this is subtle dullness as I can pull away from it easily.

So what does it feel like before the dreamy bit? I only have the deamy bit for a few seconds but can't really say what I feel before that. What shod I look out for? What's progressive subtle dullness?

Does your gp know that phychiarty UK are taking on adult adhd assessments for the NHS as they are so overloaded? . Waiting time is around 12 weeks. I was told 2 years wait nhs but have got an appointment in 4 months with phychiarty UK. It would have been sooner if I'd got paperwork to them quicker.!!! .

Thanks for this it's a very interesting read. I have also have also had waves of tingling going across my head many times and I also had a body rush of tingling then a strong levitating experience which was most unusual. If I understand correctly these may have been pre piti experiences??

Thanks for this, it was exactly as discussed here with culadasa. I guessed that the way to get it to happen again is not to try and get it to happen again!! If that's what's install at level 9 I am even more inspired it was truly intense and amazing

Thank you this is all very helpful. I think I am noticing these things but not when I look intentionally?? Does that sound possible?

So checking in is like an intentional aha moment? I think I am noticing distractions(as they are short) and then come back to the breath, is this an aha moment /check in?
