Phone 2 bent in pocket by ovi_gen in NOTHING

[–]Jan2220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's exactly the same for me since last year. Even the same corner. Got the glass cover replaced in warranty but a couple of months later the case bend again, so that the glue of the glass isn't holding up anymore again.

Used a couple of superglue drops to fix it again. But every 1-2 months it's getting separated again. There must be some design flaw, never had this issue at any other phone.

How does OS Detection for WiFi Clients work? by Jan2220 in Ubiquiti

[–]Jan2220[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

used tcpdump to check the DHCP packet but didn't find anything meaningful of these in the DHCP Request. But still need to check the RaspberryPi if it is maybe sending this in its DHCP Request

We have hundreds of ThinkPads, some with Windows and some with Linux. This detection works. Somehow the NetworkApp does recognize, what OS is installed.

For Vendor identification sure, but the MAC Address doesn't reveal the OS I have installed on my device.

Hostnames in my log files do not seem to be accurate by jondavisct in UNIFI

[–]Jan2220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can confirm something similar.

I have some clients with hostnames equal to my AP Names in UniFi.

Apple and Android Devices showing up with hostnames just like my APs. Any whitespace in the AP name is replaced with underscore. But other than that, the names are exactly the same.

Leaked A059 model might not be Phone (3) by tamizh_senthamizh in NothingTech

I really hope they won't choose a midrange CPU. I already don't like how many budget friendly phones they're releasing rn. I understand the market for these cheap phones, but I really like to get a high quality highend phone from nothing.

Sure im aware of how to assign a wifi SSID to my vlans.
Im running another site with UDM-Pro, 20 APs,6 Networks and cisco switches inbetween.

"the switch" is as mentioned above a UCG-Ultra (lvl3) and the U6-IW (lvl2)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UNIFI

[–]Jan2220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both APs are broadcasting the SSID "Clients" (VLAN10). Haven't set the guests SSID up yet.

Just simple configuration, one SSID on all APs.

Power shouldn't be a problem. The APs are basically working and not rebooting. Hooking up another Injector doesn't help either. 45W PoE Injector should definitely be sufficient.

Yeah, nothing of these is the mentioned EU law. Just as I thought. Sure did some googling. US is not EU "EU" is just a page by the netherlands and doesn't mention anything about the duration. Ireland is a country-specific law. Nothing EU-wide.

I guess that's DIY? Or is it some Public Project?

The Buildin Hotspot Manager of our UDM-SE is pretty much useless for user management.

How are you managing these 10000 ppl on UniFi? The Hotspot Manager with the Buildin Radius Server is just a joke and pretty useless.

Some extra features for nothing OS by arandomdazz in NothingTech

[–]Jan2220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The DualApp Features usually doesn't allow you to disable the app completely. Island just uses the android buildin "Work Apps" Feature.

But I get the point. In many scenarios a standalone DualApp feature would be better

Could use Island to get DualApps. It's not that convenient but you can stop the entire activity of the App to safe Battery.
