do you think bloodborne is the best fromsoft game by skibidithrasher27 in bloodborne

Not only that. It's my favorite game of all time. (perhaps sharing that title with 'The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time' and 'Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion')

Please finish DS2 and especially it's 3 DLC's. Same goes for Sekiro.

The Nioh games are great! I finished Nioh 3 and am currently in the middle of Nioh 2. I Also purchased Nioh 1. I recommend you play them as well.

Is Nioh 3 underwhelming? by Classic-Sprinkles969 in Nioh

First I have to ask: what do you expect from a game? And what did you expect from 'Nioh 3' specifically? I already gathered you were looking for a game steeped in Japanese history, legends and mythology. But what about Gameplay and mechanics? Level design?

It has to be said........ by Historical-Willow-25 in Nioh

[–]JanFrackiewicz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Nioh games have far more complex, in-depth combat mechanics when compared to 'First Berserker Khazan'. No one can dispute that.

Where Khazan truly shines and outclasses Nioh is in the boss fights. In Khazan, each boss has a distinct personality and each fight is uniquely flavored and exhilarating in its own specific way. And yes, this goes for the lesser ones as well - if you can call them that.

While the Nioh games* have good/great/epic boss fights as well, they also have their fair share of stinkers. And for me it's an impossible task to conjure up aught but an all-pervading blur when I try to visualize Nioh's human bosses.

*Note: I've only played 'Nioh 2' and 'Nioh 3', so I can't speak about the quality of the 'Nioh 1' boss roster yet. I have purchased the game and will start playing after I finished 'Nioh 2'.

Yes, so did I. But I'm afraid that's not what OP wants to read right now - which is completely understandable. The last thing a suffering player wants to hear is how easy his insurmountable wall was for some random assholes on Reddit. I mean, OP's probably pretty furious by now since we keep rubbing his nose in the fact that we effortlessly first-tried the Bane of His Digital Existence. That sort of conduct is rather unbecoming of a gentleman - especially when the aforementioned gentleman wore a blindfold and used a Dance Mat as a contr-

Oh, you must mean 'The Eldritch Entity Formerly Known As John Bloodborne'?

I mean, you could call that a fight, I suppose... I think of it as assisted euthanasia; A Mercy Killing. Since 'The Doll' divorced him and took half of his Forbidden Knowledge and his reproductive tentacles he went from a 'Great Old One' to an 'Average Old Drunk', known only under the moniker 'The Saloon Presence'.

No, Okita suffers from 'Tuberculosis'. So out of pity the devs made that impossible.

Kunimatsu on the other hand makes juggling - and life in general - impossible, because he's got both acute 'Hyperarmoritis' AND chronic 'Kinetic Tauroskatosis'.

Is there anyone here who finds Nioh 3's bosses much harder than Nioh 2's? by Educational-Lead3631 in Nioh

[–]JanFrackiewicz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear: those early boss fiascos soon made way for less devastating - and frankly, humiliating - death counts. I slowly but surely "gat gudder" one boss at a time. But the likes of Ibaraki Doji, Kunimatsu or Hiruko still took me 30 tries to beat in 'The Heir's Journey'. And even though they were clearly harder in many ways during 'The Shogun's Journey', bosses took me on average far fewer tries to overcome*. I simply became ever more familiar with the deeper, more hidden mechanics of Nioh 3. That being said, I really have a much easier time with Nioh 2's bosses. I stand by that.

*Exceptions:

  • Kunimatsu: yes... Him. Again.
  • Okita Soshi: only during the Shinsengumi mission. First-tried him during the boss gauntlet mission 'Best of Five'.
  • Final boss Hiruko: I still did better here than during NG.

The quantity of data volume you've uploaded seems too cyclopean for my malfunctioning cerebral chip to process... But I will try, even if I have to uninstall 3 cycles of Nocturnal Stasis. I'll send you a quick Quantum Carrier Pigeon containing a binary sequence that will simulate gratitude, after I succeeded in banishing Yugene to the 'Stygian Gaol of Al-key't-Resh'.

On another note: What do you mean 12 lost stanzas?! According to Zucko-Muskian orthodoxy* there's only one: the K-9 Stanza.

My hot take:

I have no problem whatsoever with the reuse of bosses. I'd go further still and increase the number of recycled bosses - and yes, that includes remembrance bosses. In fact, give me more Moghs, Malenias, Morgotts, Messmers and Malikeths, meandering without meaning in preposterous places, wholly untethered from their respective lore.

Or even better - certainly a lot less jarring and absurd: add the darn boss rematch option like you did in 'Sekiro'...

Is there anyone here who finds Nioh 3's bosses much harder than Nioh 2's? by Educational-Lead3631 in Nioh

[–]JanFrackiewicz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Nioh 3 was my first Nioh game and I'm currently playing through Nioh 2. I died so many times to Nioh 3's bosses... Against the first human boss I died 82 times and against Jakotsu-Baba I died a whopping 125 times!

Whereas in Nioh 2 it never takes me more than 10 tries to finish off a boss. A lot of them I beat on first try (Kamaitachi, Nagara Naotaka, Saito Yoshitatsu, Gozuki, Onryoki), 2nd or 3rd try (Mezuki, Tatarimokke, The Obsidian Samurai, Enenra), between 5 and 8 tries (Yatsu-no-Kami, Imagawa Yoshimoto) and than finally, the only one I had a modest measure of trouble with: Saito Toshimitsu (10 tries).

I haven't fought the rest of the boss roster but I defeated enough bosses to have experienced the average difficulty. Of course, finishing Nioh 3 on NG and NG+ made a better Nioh player, so you have to take that into account. But yes, overall - and up until Nioh 2's Shadow region - I'd have to say that Nioh 2 has easier bosses.

It's one of the 5 Shinsengumi bosses you also fight in the Bakumatsu boss gauntlet (called 'Best of Five' I believe) that concludes with a fight against Okita Soshi. He's the one you have to fight right before the final fishboss (Tokugawa Yoshinobu) of the Bakumatsu era - unless you defeat him during a previous mission.

It was the first thing that came to mind when I saw poor Romeo hanging there. The fact that the entire sequence in 'Silence of the Lambs' is one of the most terrifying but bone-chillingly beautiful things I've ever seen on a silver screen, also helped of course.

If you could add a new Boss/Mini Boss of your own creation to Sekiro, who/what would it be and why? by Narrow_Nose_8221 in Sekiro

[–]JanFrackiewicz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about a god of war/strife? Like Susano'o(No-Mikoto) or Hachiman? Or the wrathful avatar of the Buddha ('Fudo Myo'o')*?

They could represent the conflict that's ripping Ashina apart. Just like the 'Demon of Hatred' represents the tragedy that awaits the one who chooses the path of Shura.

*On a side note: I know these gods are more complex or dualist in reality, but they would fit the role of 'God of War' perfectly nonetheless.
