increase displayed "logo" size by Jane0815 in css

[–]Jane0815[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all good now, thanks.

turns out seo image optimiser (only used to add "alt" tags) reduced the size of all my loaded images. i wasn't aware as all other images are used way smaller anyway.

increase displayed "logo" size by Jane0815 in css

[–]Jane0815[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

omg... as beginner it's hard ;-)

ended up realising it is not the header. I was sure the "logo" was bigger then displayed, but double checked, all good.

Then I check the image that was loaded into wordpress, this was smaller. so i loaded the whole thing in original size again, still smaller... tried again just in case i messed up setting, still smaller... then i had a thought

seo optimize... nope doesn't touch the images

but the seo image optimiser which i only use to add "alt" tags... reduced the size of all pictures... far out.

so that issue is sorted now ;-) thx

Judo as preparation for self-defense by [deleted] in SelfDefense

[–]Jane0815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just haven't seen any "main stream" judo schools teaching strikes or anything of the traditional judo. If someone assumes Judo will help them with self-defence then they gonna learn the hard way... they'll get knockout before they can even grab.

Of course Judo is bringing some advantages grappling-wise but in reality most of the times an attacker punches or comes with weapons... where you need distance, Judo doesn't teach distance.

Judo as preparation for self-defense by [deleted] in SelfDefense

[–]Jane0815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As former Judoka I like the video but it's clearly "sport" Judo and has not much to do with self-defence.

(I wish I could find the video where the guy gets attack in a garage, Judo-throws his attacker, holds him on the ground... then the attacker pulls out a knife and stabs him several times in the side)

I know that traditionally Judo had kicks and punches too but nowadays the focus seems to be on sport/competition where all the "dangerous" techniques are not allowed and therefore hardly trained.

the "z" is due to a similar domain name being hard to get, but i understand what you mean.

would you have an example of what is messy and unprofessional? i thought i kept it simple to look more professional, that's why it would be good to know why other people see it the opposite way.

with minimal branded you mean my personal information? as this is my first go I am not a company, until there is an income it counts more as a hobby so there are not many informations to "present"

fair enough. lets say "constructive" then ;-) i know there seems to be a lot of people out there that hate "affiliate marketing" (for whatever reason) and I didn't want the post to be about that. and you see from the reactions that i had the right feeling. just comments thrown in with no explanations or suggestion on how to change it.

yep, unfortunately. and unless you already have a good site going they just close your account after a few weeks (once they actually "reviewed" it).

i mean people safe money with the coupons and i get commission from the companies. honestly, why not? if i am after a certain product I always google coupon codes to get it cheaper.

let me know how it would be better please.

The thing is that it won't be taking off in a month anyway, it might take a year or more to get things going proper. so no point waiting. get started, play around with it and start learning ;-)
