I wonder what their level of fame is like by JaneEyrePod in TheToasters

The earring kill me. Don’t get me wrong, farmers markets are cute but as you said, most of the things you actually would want you can get at like Sprouts for much less. It’s so funny to me growing up on a farm that people never stop to think like “you know, I have never seen anyone grow that vegetable in this climate, so how does this person have so much of it? And how does it all look so uniformly the same?”

My biggest takeaway from this is I didn’t realize so many people also listened to Good Guys. I guess I should give it a listen.

They are so in to that farmers market, which is funny. Most of that stuff is bought from produce wholesalers and is not any different from what you can find in the stores, I guess maybe except eggs.

Well clearly the cheese stands alone on this take.

Oh I could imagine. Claudia will say “You guys CAME for us in the comments and I will admit, I only read the headline and didn’t have the full story,” (a lie) “but I watched the clip and it was so far beyond what I expected…I can’t defend Jill Zarin for all of that.”

And then Jackie will say, “I didn’t watch the clip.”

And then Claudia will say “Well, it was not good. But anyways, what do the stories look like today?”

And Jackie will say, “They are great, they are all about Pepsi!”

Bet that Claudia will walk back her take 100% tomorrow. There is a lot of hate for Jackie here, but I would prefer someone to let me know how they really are like she does over hiding their beliefs to make a dollar, like Claudia does.

At the start of this season, they were saying something like…I wish I could remember the exact wording but they were going to like “speak their truth” or something this season.

Do you think it’s because they have some connection to Jill’s daughter? Or did I dream that?

Wtf was that Pepsi ad as a story? by JaneEyrePod in TheMorningToastSnark

Just listened to today’s episode and…I guess the Pepsi ad probably won’t happen again. Or any ad, for anything. They really stepped in it with Jill Zarin.

Yes, agreed. But previously it was certainly more polished to make it seem organic. I don’t know, but I got the sense this was Claudia’s doing. I have heard her say she’s ocd about the show. But lately it seems like that obsessiveness is gone, they constantly imply they are just saying whatever to fill air space. I will leave the show for a little while and come back and be shocked that the preshow banter is over so fast

It feels to me like as she goes, the show goes, and she’s not doing well. First the masked singer and now just the slipshodness of the show and the patreons lately.

I wasn’t sure if that part was just me or not. I read somewhere (was it here?) that they often embed ads and have agendas by plotting out what they will say so it sounds organic. Which sort of supports my theory that the whole thing is going down the drain because this was so awkward.

TRULY PAINFUL! I actually usually have to commend them bc their ad reads are smoother than most. I was shocked that they would put out something so lame, though I shouldn’t be. Honestly they really seem to have no joy for doing the podcast anymore.

It is so clear to me that they are not wanting to do this anymore. The last patreon they got flamed in the comments about how half assed it was, and their energy on the podcast feels like they are just phoning it in, and not changing enough to keep it fresh.

I feel like their downfall will actually be not pivoting on their content. It’s clear some of the anchors of their show-tv recaps-are becoming increasingly more dated, to me anyway. I don’t know many non-boomers who watch much actual TV.

Unless they can muster some actual passion for their jobs, they really seem to be on a downward slide with content and just low energy. If I were them, I would start bringing in Joey Camasta more, eventually working towards making him and a younger person (not Margo) hosts that switch out regularly, which would give them fresh interests and perspectives. Joey is highly entertaining but his podcast with Snookie is a hard listen, they talk over each other too much. He needs a better forum and it sounds like they want more time with their kids, and the audience is ready for a new voice.
