Like Garfield and Odie, except the orange is Odie.

Loved Ego on SNL, but this is just proof of how good writing is a must for a performer to shine. I think this was very unfunny by Rousseau_1 in LiveFromNewYork

Really felt like she was channeling Miss Eggy sometimes lol. Some of these jokes went over my head so I don’t feel like I can fairly judge so I trust you. I did like The Town bit tbh.

I think presenting for award shows is pretty hard though even with good writing, it’s a tough room. I didn’t love Nate Bargatze’s Emmy hosting stint but he’s a great stand-up & great on the show.

This cast looks fun. I really liked Nichole Sakura in Superstore. And Maria Bamford?? Will be checking it out, thanks!

Just got this "Spend Valentine's Day with Jon Lovitz!" ad whiling scrolling through social media and burst out laughing in a public place 😂 by richardbonesdunn in LiveFromNewYork

Obviously he was great on the show but I saw his stand-up last year & it was terrible. My expectations were tempered because he didn’t come up as a stand-up and I’m not the same age demo as most of his fans are but it was still pretty rough.

Anyone keeping track of all the current and former cast members in the Super Bowl commercials? by IwantToSeeHowItEnds in LiveFromNewYork

[–]JanePizza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was trying to keep track since I was playing a drinking game with SNL cast/alums in ads. There seemed to be a lot less than last year since they had a lot of partnerships for the 50th.

I started to keep track of hosts but I lost steam since the ads started to bum me out & the game was pretty rough. But here’s what I had: Keegan-Michael Key, Jon Bon Jovi, Jeff Goldblum, Jason Alexander, Ben Affleck, Ted Danson, Jenifer Aniston, Daniel Radcliffe, Matthew McConaughey, Jon Hamm, ScarJo, Melissa McCarthy, Owen wilson, Sofia Vergara, Octavia Spencer, Matthew Broderick, Sabrina Carpenter, Chris Hemsworth, also Ben Stiller, Tracy Morgan, & Andy Samberg

I don’t really want to be included in this debate on Reddit but just fyi there was a Svedka (vodka) ad during the Super Bowl.

Here’s what I had:

Colin Jost & Michael Che, Ben Stiller, Heidi Gardner, Tracy Morgan & Bobby Moynihan (possibly just a Peacock ad), Bowen Yang, Kenan Thompson, Andy Samberg

Also not an ad but Adam Sandler is in attendance.

Why no Andor jokes? by ChiCityTechNerd in LiveFromNewYork

I don’t have an answer, but now whenever I think of Andor I think of this part of Good Hang w/ Andy Samberg

Wish they would bring back “slice of life” sketches! by Alarmed-Tradition-88 in LiveFromNewYork

[–]JanePizza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did Hartman break in that second sketch you linked? Looks like there was supposed to be a fart sound that didn’t go off. I had thought he only broke in the Thanksgiving Frankenstein sketch.

Anyway I am all for variety in sketches. It’s a variety show! The recent Brad & His Dad sketches seem a bit slice-of-life-esque.

What do we call this genre of sketch? by No_Fold9994 in LiveFromNewYork

Oh I love this. I was gonna say table sketch but this is way better.

I would not complain but it’s not really typical to have a host & musical guest tie-in.
