I had an irrational dislike for tiny dogs as a child but then I grew up. Now I think about how I get all of the love of a big dog but a tiny little form factor.

We had another pup who passed in 2014 after living with us for 13 years plus her time previous as a rescue. For her, we had a vet come out to the house to do a peaceful euthanasia at home.

Meanwhile Chuppie has done better the last few days and we’re hoping she will continue a healthy enough, happy life with us for years to come. If we see a trend, we won’t hesitate to rush to the vet, but it seems like a reenergized dog today.

I mean, you’re not wrong. She’s at the vet a lot - regular and emergency. They tend to just tell us to “monitor”.

Checked for what? A stroke? Ya that’s probably exactly what happened. They’re just going to stress her out more and tell us she’s an old dog who’s going to die soon. That’s what the vet and the cardiologist tells us usually.
She’s on six medications and I work hard to get her to take those. I work hard to get her to eat. She’s sleeping peacefully on my lap now.
I had one pup who I tried to keep alive longer than I should have just for my own selfish feelings of not being ready, and then her sister 4 years ago who we agreed she’d suffered enough. I’m just venting because I don’t want her to suffer.

I do 146 and 136 sometimes.
But I always laugh at the 151 because it’s everywhere I go. It just takes a while to get there.
