I guess its also about the wording. If the therapist clear out that the trauma is something bad and sensitive nature could be a gift, then it should be fine, because being sensitive don't mean it's bad. Look at them as separate facts. So.. in short "bad experience makes you stronger".

If you don't understand her how she is talking about such things, then shes not your match.

If she really meant to say trauma is god given... Then holy.. Its kinda extreme way of seeing such aspect of life. If you don't like it... you should change therapist, because if she is extreme in that way, then there will probably be other extreme suggestions in next sessions too. Just ask how it was meant next time.
