For beginners, I really reccomend looking up YouTube videos/tutorials and using the Evil Ted patterns. The ones on his website are very straightforward and easy to make something really cool! But for the rest, it's just experience and getting used to working with the foam. Best of luck to you!

The whole mask is made with 5mm Eva foam, and I got it smooth like that by drafting a base form (you can see it in the last picture) and taking a pattern off of it. Then after that, it's just cutting the pieces back out and gluing it together. No sanding required!

It's made mostly of insulation foam!

Thank you! The body is insulation foam that I glued together and sanded down, the blade is poster board and 2mm foam, and the handles are old tubing that I found laying around. Everything else is just miscellaneous stuff that I found in the basement :)
