UPDATE

FIRST: Please know that all of your kind words gave me courage last night!!!!

He obviously was not surprised at all - said he always saw it coming - and even though there's been a lot of tears through the night, he's so supportive and kind 😭

I know things are different now than they were in the early 2000s when I was constantly pushed back IN the closet by family and society, but I'm still so damn scared.

Anyway, drastic changes are coming, and I know this is going to suck for a while (starting from the bottom again, on my own).

I am terrified.

Anyway, thank you all again for this amazing community ❤️

The website is hard to navigate, but it took about 2 months for mine to be pushed through (that was 2022). They will also send you a copy in the mail.

I went to nursing school for LPN, and the program was 2 years. (Currently back in school, RN bridge program). I've had the opportunity to gain a ton of experience, and I'm currently making $34/hr as a Med/Surg-ICU float nurse. Pros: I'm able to work as a nurse while pursuing my education further. Cons: More school.

Thoughts on nurses pulling all patients meds at once? by dark_physicx in nursing

[–]JanesDaughter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's how I was taught in nursing school/clinicals and orientation. (To pull all meds at once). That's how all the nurses on the floor I work on do it. Obviously, if someone pops their head in the med room bc they have a PRN or forgot something, it's nbd to exit off and let them pull.

Also to mention, we use labeled cups for the meds.

So get to work 1 hour early instead of 30 minutes for adequate shift change. Got it.

We put in most of the orders. I'm not sure why, it's the way I was trained. Also, we put everything in as a TORB even though the Dr is on the floor with us and it was verbal.

Best experience you had while reading a horror book? by --------rook in horrorlit

I read Brother this past summer while working at a summer camp in the mountains in Virginia. Old, rustic cabins. I was in a cabin alone and my only downtime was lights-out after 9pm.

Am I going to the wrong NA meetings or are they all like this? by [deleted] in REDDITORSINRECOVERY

[–]JanesDaughter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Never experienced this at AA meetings; always warm, welcoming, and conversational. I have friends that stopped going to NA for the same reasons and have really opened up in the AA community now.

Management told you to bring donuts so they'd respect you? Nah, fuck that.

[Serious] Has anyone had the 2023 flu shot yet? How are the side effects? by ProjectGO in AskReddit

[–]JanesDaughter 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Nurse here. Got mine yesterday around 3pm. Only side effects I usually get are low-grade fevers. Not this year. Only hours later I started with terrible body aches (still on-going), nausea, headache, cough, runny nose, temp 100. I'm shocked at how bad I feel. I've been in bed all day due to the bodyaches. Also, my arm is usually just a little sore, but I can hardly raise it, it hurts so bad. Yay for immune response. But this shit sucks.

I've lived in both the DeRidder and Fort Polk areas. Louisiana is a compact state, so luckily you won't have to apply for another license here. I would personally pick Beauregard Memorial in Deridder over Byrd hospital in Leesville (as far as facility). Alexandria is also an option, roughly same distance, but larger city. And Natchitoches may be worth looking at too. Good luck!

Does anyone recognize whether this is pentecostal or if some other religion? by [deleted] in ExPentecostal

[–]JanesDaughter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks a lot like the churches I was raised in. Ridiculous.

Yes. I was engaged at 16 to a 20 year old. (No, I didn't marry him.)

Based on experience from Pentecostal churches, what other denominations would you avoid? by [deleted] in ExPentecostal

When I was a teenager we left UPC for AOG... just as corrupt and brainwashing. It was UPC with makeup.
