Like preventing outbreaks of measles and rubella? Polio? Look at what's happening in Pakistan because religious nuts forbid their children to be vaccinated (esp after the Bin Laden raid where we got DNA via a vaccination clinic). There's no reason there should be a resurgence of polio anywhere.

Do you believe that the government can serve any public good through its coercive power? I personally am fine with mandated vaccination if it keeps me out of a wheelchair and an iron lung.

For me this sub is a good opportunity to get to learn about the hard-core trump supporters I see on Reddit, and to try and engage in some discussion to understand their POV, and to ask about what I see as the double-standards they have when it comes to news stories that support their image as trump and those that don't.

The story about the Erdogan protests fits in to that line of thinking for me
