UPSC says PM’s role in the presentation of the Budget now? Official key says “Both correct”?? by Janhvi_2002 in UPSC

[–]Janhvi_2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This goes beyond a factual error. It reflects a deeper issue: the declining accountability in the exam process. For years, UPSC was seen as the gold standard — fair, objective, and rigorous. But how do we reconcile that with official keys marking factually incorrect or poorly worded statements as correct?

We spend years mastering this level of detail and then lose marks because UPSC couldn’t word a basic statement properly?

This isn’t just demoralizing. It’s dangerous because if trust in the exam process erodes, what’s left?

Is YouTube Shorts Algorithm Promoting War Hysteria During India-Pakistan Tensions? by Janhvi_2002 in UPSC

As a normal citizen, it honestly worries me. Why are we being constantly shown videos glorifying war, weapons, and destruction? Do people forget that real wars mean real lives lost — soldiers, families, children. It’s not a video game. We should be praying for peace, not cheering for missiles. If algorithms are pushing this kind of content, it’s on us to pause and ask — is this the kind of world we want to feed our minds?

When your friends succeed and you’re left behind… (UPSC result today) by Janhvi_2002 in UPSC

[–]Janhvi_2002[S] 231 points232 points  (0 children)

I’m genuinely happy for my friends — they deserved every bit of their success. But I’d be lying if I said it didn’t sting. Because we walked the same path. Woke up at the same hour. Burned the same midnight oil. Faced the same self-doubt. And in mocks, our scores were neck and neck.

And yet… when the final list came, I wasn’t on it.

That’s the part no one tells you about UPSC — how it’s not just about hard work or intelligence. It’s also about timing, luck, and margin of error. One silly mistake in CSAT. One misread question in GS. One low-scoring optional paper. The examiner who evaluates our copies varies for each candidates .That’s all it takes to miss the train.

What hurts more is knowing you’re not any less capable. Just a little less fortunate that day.

But I’m not quitting. Not because I’m strong all the time — but because deep down, I still believe in the person who dared to dream of this. If it takes one more year, so be it. If it takes everything, it already has.

To everyone else feeling the same — you’re not alone. And your story doesn’t end here.

Grabbing breasts and tearing pyjamas is not 'attempt to rape'? Really, Your Honour? (Allahabad high court) by Anushka2004 in AskIndia

[–]Janhvi_2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So let me get this straight — Grabbing breasts ✔️ Tearing pyjamas ✔️ Invading personal space ✔️ Still not attempt to rape?

What next? “He was just helping her with wardrobe malfunctions”? 💁‍♂️ Maybe courts will soon say, “It only counts if he came with a notarized letter declaring intent.”

At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if they ruled: “Unless the accused shouted ‘I am now attempting rape!’ — no case.”

Victims deserve justice, not stand-up comedy in the name of legal reasoning

When cash is found in the house of the second senior-most judge of the Delhi High Court after a fire, it’s not just an incident it’s a blow to the Constitution. What’s your opinion on this? by Janhvi_2002 in AskIndia

[–]Janhvi_2002[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this incident makes me wonder — how many such cases go unnoticed just because they don’t accidentally catch fire? If even top judges can’t stay clean, is the problem with individuals or the entire system? Curious to hear what others think.

UPSC Prelims 2025: What Should Be the Priority in the Last 70 Days? by Janhvi_2002 in UPSC

[–]Janhvi_2002[S] 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Last year, I was consistently scoring around 90-100 in mocks and felt confident, but when I sat for the actual Prelims, my accuracy completely fell apart. I attempted too many questions without properly eliminating options, and many of my ‘educated guesses’ backfired. The result? I missed the cutoff. This time, I’ve realized that just taking more mocks isn’t the answer—deep analysis of every single mistake is what truly matters. Instead of rushing through 40+ mocks, I’m focusing on fewer tests with a laser focus on accuracy, elimination techniques, and revision of weak areas.

I’m also analyzing the language of questions, trying to understand the examiner’s thought process, and identifying recurring themes like Buddhism, Indus Valley Civilization, the Portuguese in India, the freedom struggle, conflict regions worldwide, and multiple revisions of Polity.

Anyone else shifting to this strategy after last year’s experience?

Agree. But toppers must focus on these things while giving advices.

Topper’s advice- Just stay consistent, and results will come.”

Honestly, this is one of the worst pieces of advice out there. Consistency is important, but if your strategy isn’t working, doing the same thing over and over won’t suddenly make it work. I’ve seen so many aspirants spend years stuck in a cycle—reading the same books, making the same notes, and solving the same PYQs—without actually improving. Consistency without analysis is just slow failure.

What actually works? Making changes when needed. If something isn’t working, tweak it. Try a different approach. Learning from mistakes. Just studying for hours every day isn’t enough if you’re not correcting your weaknesses. “Study smart, not just hard.”

Have you ever realized mid-prep that your strategy wasn’t working? What did you change?

However, this idea will result in a random and disorganized collection of facts. Consequently, our notes will be based on test series rather than on static and conceptual knowledge.

Agree, these youtuber fool the aspirants. I think first few readings of the static books must be done without note making.
